Heidi, in 2018, at age 45, I had a fluke allergic reaction. It was awful and I was in the hospital for several days. Although we made the switch to natural remedies many years ago, during my hospital stay I was pumped full of pharmaceuticals. It was touch and go for a couple of days and the 3rd day I was finally able to walk with assistance. Anyway, 3 months later I was horrified when my hair started falling out by handfuls! I researched and found it was due to the medications while in the hospital. I found your hair care videos and started using the info, everything from the wooden comb to vinegar. What a blessing. My hair is back to 99% normal now! Thank you!!! Btw, my hair texture, curl and thickness is nearly identical to yours. (I wanted straight hair as a little girl but I now love it just the way it is) sorry for the long post.

Well I did have it cut and I will say I'm much happier with this shorter length. I'm post menapsause. I've now had people say I look so cute, 1o years younger etc.

My girl friend an I went to a high school which had very strict rules and one of them was we could wear no makeup, so she went to using castor oil on her eyelashes. They grew very long and thick, and when she curled them they were very nice looking and actually, with the oil they were darker than usual, and looked like she was wearing mascara. When she was called upon the carpet for wearing mascara, she was able to tell the principle of the school what she was doing. There was nothing more that could be said, because it wasn't mascara. She put it in an empty deodorant roller bottle and applied it that way.

Great Suggestions as always! I've used Castor oil for my brows that were thinning.... thyroid, menopause/hormones and meds from autoimmune situation. Going to give the Sage & Rosemary a try to infuse for rest my hair....l am thinking adding a bit of coconut or olive oil though mixed with my castor oil. Asian & Middle Eastern cultures use Coconut & olive oil for hair--and argon in Morocco...but I'm out of fresh argon. :/

I'm surprised that no one has asked this, but leave it to me to have my brain run on a long abandoned train track as usual! So neither hubby nor I take a shower every day as we live in the desert and our skin just gets too dried out when we shower daily - sooooo.... When you have oil in your hair/on your scalp (same thing right?), how do you keep from getting it all over your pillow and headrest on your chair, etc? Also, while this concoction will be infusing for a long time, is there something (essential oils maybe) that I can start with asap? Just this last week, I have lost so much hair, that my scalp shines thru my salt and pepper hair. I'm over 60, but not ready to have see thru hair! So anything I can start using now that will help while I'm "brewing" my "Heidi hair tonic" would be outstanding! Thanks sweet teacher!
@RainCountryHomestead
@RainCountryHomestead 2 жыл бұрын
Actually, I have been asked that many times. Yes, I just leave it in until the next time I wash my hair, which is usually every other day. Any of the essential oils I mentioned in the above video can be used either straight or in a carrier oil depending on your sensitivity and applied directly to the scalp
@shara4389
@shara4389 2 жыл бұрын
@@RainCountryHomestead so about the oily hair... Do you use a shower cap or something to sleep in so you're not making yucky pillow/case? And the essential oils and the carrier will do the job nicely till my "brew" is finished? This is just plain UGLY being able to see my scalp shining thru my brown and gray hair! Thank you 💙
@RainCountryHomestead
@RainCountryHomestead 2 жыл бұрын
Just now seeing this, sorry, I only rub it into my scalp in the morning, the oil pretty much gets absorbed throughout the day so it is never an issue, however, if you need to wear a shower cap, the warmth it will create will actually help it work better and absorb into the skin

I have a few bald spots & my hair is so thin now it barely covers my scalp. I’ve copied your hair oil recipe & hope to make it as soon as I Can get the ingredients. Do you think it would help to use the oil even as it is being infused. My nails & skin are also very thin so I need to address those issues as well. Thanks again! God bless you!

A suggestion Heidi - dig a bit more into Vitamin D. I am no longer recommending it unless in whole food form. When one has a non functioning thyroid the first mineral deficiency to consider is copper, Cu-0 mineral. Copper is depleted by synthetic supplements such as ascorbic acid and synthesized D. (Many other factors as well - such as GMO, anti-biotics, fear - aka the news). I used to think it was vitamin D but with this year's revolutionary read of "Cu-re Your Fatigue" by Morley Robbins (look up interview with Weston A Price foundation and Morley Robbins), and learning from my mentor Dr. Monzo - I have learned so much about copper/iron balance and critical need for Retinol A in order to absorb our essential nutrients. Pure, cold pressed cod liver oil is God's perfect balance of retinol A and vitamin D3. Always love your videos. I love horsetail for my hair tonic as well! Castor oil on my eyelids totally took care of my dry eyes!

Yes but it depends on how much, how often, and how many different ways they are being taken. I personally do not diffuse nor ever will, but those who have had bad reactions diffuse, take internally in capsules form _and_ apply topically. No matter how healthy any one thing can be for a person, there IS such thing as too much. Even drinking too much water at once can be deadly

Mine is mardis gras but it does not have to be that and in fact you do not HAVE to add them at all. I just added those as an extra

Be cautious with Rosemary because it can cause your aleady hypertension higher. So be aware of that.
@RainCountryHomestead

This is for external use but anything herb can interact with medications so people need to always do their own research though in this application and the small amount of rosemary in it highly unlikely there would be an issue. It would be no different than eating an Italian dish in where a little rosemary was added to the sauce. It is a potent herb so anyone who cooks with it knows not to add too much

Will any of these work for fine limp blonde hair My hair fell out in handfuls not just because of the well water here but because that was the first sight of effect of an antibiotic that I was taking my hair was coming out in handfuls everyday. I had to buy a water filter and I use biolage shampoo and I finally got my hair back it's a no way near it was it's only shoulder-length now it was down to my bra strap

I cannot say what will work for you, I can only share my recipes and hope those that try it have the same results. Hair fall though is also caused from stress. This can be from illness or mental or emotional stress. Eating right and getting plenty of vitamin D and biotin from natural food sources can also help

I am losing my hair fast. Anything you would recommend that I can buy now ? I’m so new to this national world. I don’t have anything to make this. I’m afraid by the time I’m done making this and the time to let it sit, I will have no hair left. 😢

You can try castor oil alone. Massage in at night, wash out in the morning or if you have very dry hair, massage a small amount into the scalp after washing and leave it in. For more ideas, please see this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/rGfWgK2lm5tsb7M

Hello and thank you for the recipe! I stumbled upon your page today and have been loving all the useful information. I have 2 questions though: 1) Can you use fresh red peppers or should I dry them first? 2) Do I add lavender oil after the infusion is finished, so after two months, or do should it be added in the beginning? Once again thank you for sharing this with the world.

Whenever you are making an oil infusion, the items added to infuse MUST be dried. I believe I did state in the video that I will add the essential oil at the end. It won't hurt to add it in the beginning but you may lose some of the expensive oil when you go to strain out the herbs so best to add after it is strained

Rain Country thank you so much for the reply. I am just starting the whole “infusion” thing and learning as I go. And perhaps my gut feeling told me to dry the peppers as I did set them out to dry yesterday but I wanted to make sure. Ok got it with the oil 👌🏻 once again lots of thanks and love from a Russian girl in Turkey 🤣😊

Technically your castor oil should come in a glass bottle, per the lady who does castor oil packs.
@RainCountryHomestead
@RainCountryHomestead Жыл бұрын
Yes, that is what many claim and while glass is always best, castor oil is one of the safest in that regards to that as it does not degrade plastic the way many other oils do. Also to note, that castor oil being sold in glass bottles was first shipped in plastic drums

Thank you. I started loosing my hair, which is fine and straight to begin with, over 30 years ago. I have read aspertame leads to hair loss. I drank diet coke copiously from the age of 15 till my late 30s. I've read Horsey Tail is also good for hair loss. Yah blessed us with this "invasive" herb on our land. I'll be adding that to your amazing recipe.

I believe I list off what I am using in the video audibly so you can always write it down if you need to. Though I am going through some old recipes and starting to write things down for those who need it, it all takes time and I have to do such things as I find the time. For me to go write up the list for this recipe, I would have to actually watch the video and take notes myself as I do not always these the same exact way every time and I do not follow a written recipe myself.
