Jake, I just wanted to take a moment to sincerely thank you for all of the awesome content you provide. I have been on the fence about getting a hair system for a few years now, but after watching your videos, and processing all of your great suggestions and encouragement, I have finally ordered my first unit. Of course I am still a bit nervous about the experience, but I know that I have made the right decision. Like you have said, I am doing this for me and my happiness, not for anyone else. And I am confident that along with support from my wife and kids and continuing to follow you and your journey, this is the beginning of something great. Thanks again for everything that you do. Keep it coming!

this is a video should be called how to cut a unit to fit your head not how to make a template... you didnt show how to make the template at all just skipped to after youve measured it out on your head. was hoping to see that for any tips. smh

Hey there Jake. I tried a hair system 4 years ago and found it a major- ginormous pia. You're advice is spot on imo but wouldn't it be better to do the saran/cling wrap/tape thing, get a base that's straight up made for your head, get your color match from a few locks, order your system and then have it cut in by a local stylist who's down with the whole thing (as opposed to a stylist at a wig/piece shop). The hairpiece shops are generally absurdly expensive but if you send your taped and marked template, you'll get a great fitting piece in return and not need to take a razor to the system at all. Just get it cut by a willing and able stylist and you're good to go.

I think you left out the critical steps on how you went from the plastic piece to carving out the contours of your scalp using your existing unit or placing it on your head and drawing it. This would have been a life saver for me when I first started out on this journey using what you've proposed with the plastic hair base that comes with each unit.

Yes, noticed a lot of lavivd systems are around 130 percent density, that's kinda thick for old heads,lol

Jake! Thank you for still putting out such invaluable content. Here's a question I haven't seen discussed much on the internet: Do you find that hair systems indent/leave a mark on your head long-term (presumably from tape/glue).
@JakeKent4 жыл бұрын
nope. havent ever experienced that.

So you don’t apply the unit yourself?
@suraj77014 жыл бұрын
Good one... Although I must ask.... When you go to that hair system studios, they will measure your scalp, customize the system to your hair texture color etc. So is it better to order online or go to a hair studio and have it made? Because if you order online you may have to customize it yourself right jake?
@JakeKent4 жыл бұрын
you can do a lot of that stuff yourself / with a friend. but if you want professionals that are trained to do it, then go to a salon. professionals are professionals for a reason ;)
@Sam-t7b4w4 жыл бұрын
Bro haven't you now cut the system the opposite way around? So now it's not gonna fit your hair loss area because it's in reverse? Unless the stencil is perfectly symmetrical, and your hair loss area is too
@JakeKent4 жыл бұрын
i did. good point. my system is symetrical, so luckily not an issue for me. thank you for this tip. upvoting so others see it.

I think Stick-on Hair uses that as well to make a template, mind you, his is only a partial. I've tried this and the curvature of the plastic piece isn't the same as my head. I scrapped the idea cuz I was worried if may not cut the unit to the correct size. I cut my units the same way though, using an exacto knife. Great video, man. Love your content.

@joshuajosephson73583 жыл бұрын
That it is called a hair system is pardon me, the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard. It’s a custom hair piece not something complicated. The males insecure need to complicate something simple in order to make it seem like his complicated new name makes it worth more. A system is multiple thins working together and this is just hair attached to some plastic you glue on to your head with wig glue I am assuming. It looks great on your buddy but you look great bald headed too. Handsome is handsome and your personality has a lot to do with it. It’s just that name , a hair system sounds like something a marketer created to try and hike up the price .
