Technically one of the best Italo Tutorials I have seen. For me, the challenge remains coming up with a good catchy melody. 80's Italo was absolutely driven by good Melodies, and there are very few Italo Artists who can still thrill us with a good catchy Melody. Very Nice Video.

The TR-707, Juno 106 and DX7 was my exact rig back in the 80's. I loved it and wished I could have been able to tell the future back then. I never would have sold them. One of my biggest regrets.

Excellent work on 80s 90s instruments! Back in early 90s I 've used to design samples and sounds for Ensoniq … Great felling, inspiring. After 30 years it's time for me to come back with Native Instruments, just to rejoin the 'synth' community … Keep it up, it is very nice!

Really well arranged! This is the talent which modern music producers and especially DJs who also call themselves "producers", lack heavily.
@padmad3k636 жыл бұрын
Hah, nowadays every kid with a decent computer and audio interface calls himself a "producer" or a "DJ" while they don't know anything about what they're doing. Thats why I love Italo Disco, simple but beautiful, nowadays with all the modern crap we have the musicians can't even achieve what they achieved with their primitive hardware (synths, sequencers etc.).
@vintagesynthesizers6 жыл бұрын
"primitive hardware (synths, sequencers etc.)" An example of a primitive hardware? Or you call Juno/ DX primitive?
@padmad3k636 жыл бұрын
Compared to what we have now (virtual crap) it is primitive in its time (I disagree) according to many artists. Most artists don't use them instead they use virtual crap. I own a Juno 106 so I have nothing against hardware.

ok, now agree. the same opinion.

Really great job Franck. I love these breakdowns. So many tracks. I'd love to hear a walk through of how you actually built this track from the ground up. Seeing this video is great to point out all the sound elements but doesn't cover where it started (chord progression/drum beat/lyric?) and over time how it developed and layered to create the final product. Obviously a lot of work went into this track. How you went from one layer to the next is where the magic happens. I sure other songwriters could benefit from your wisdom.
