Sick build! I'll have to try this. The idea of putting the carbon fiber over the essentially completed inner sheath is smart. Great idea.

Can you do a custom sheath for a knife?
@tonybrock528812 күн бұрын
Good stuff. I would have turned the bladè 180 degrees, in the case that this was for defènsìve purposes and not for camping. When you're pulling the knìfe in a defènsìve situation, and particularly at very closè rangè, you want to go low, and "out of sìght" and for the soft gút and then cút upwards into vitàl orgâns. Then, you can flìp your arm over the top and go for the nèck if necessâry. The other way round puts you at a dìsadvantagè initially. eg: you are likely, unless otherwise traìned, to instinctively make a forwârd stàb and will likely just hìt rìbs.

the best yet one thing i say put a chopstick at the bottom at the press time to make a drain hole...but it looks like a scout carry so you know ...nice work

I'm just getting into this Kydex stuff and this was one of the first things I wanted to try when I found out you could buy Kydex in colors other than just plain black or Olive Drab like you see on so many sheaths in so many tutorials The way I had it imagined in my head was doing the opposite, and just cutting a trim edge around the outside of where the knife is, and do the outer layer in color, and the inside in carbon fiber, but I guess this way makes way more sense Any tops for someone who has to make do with slightly more basic tools? (as in I don't have a garage/workshop to put a drill press or band saw in, I'm basically just using a heat gun to heat up the Kydex and a plank of wood and some C clamps on a table for pressure and getting.....mediocre results...)

Done quite a bit of experimenting to make the most of this little guy and 6-8 tpi seems to be the best for my usage. I'm currently using a 3/8" timber wolf blade that's working great. Cheap machine, expensive blades lol

Did you make the flairing die guide or purchase it.
@99echo3 жыл бұрын
Bought it from the same place. If you care about ease of use and consistency then I'd recommend the press they have and matching die set. I just upgraded and its not only a lot more fun to work with but also keeps your rivets in better shape.
