It’s like Christmas Morning with this tutorial 🥰 I loved that Kim was the one doing it because even though Garrett is an AMAZING teacher, Kim showed us what not to do sometimes and that’s where the real gold is at. Very good tutorial guys! It really helps to see Kim walk through everything with Garrett there to reinforce and explain what she is doing! Nice way to teach! I have been learning Illustrator and Photoshop for the last 6 mnths so that I can create my files for laser cutting. I have a new OM Tech 60 Watt with Lightburn. So would I just create my files in Adobe and assign RGB colors there and then export to Lightburn? It would be awesome to see you guys bring in some clipart and prepare it for cutting!

Great tutorial. Can you do something like this for the xtool? In painting your MDF do you prime or seal it first or just go direct with the paint and seal after done? What’s the difference in time between the glowforge and xtool to cut the project?

Hi Tina! This file can be used for the xTool as well! I'm not sure you can do this design in the xTool software, it's more for importing svgs like thos or creatinf simple text. And we just paint the mdf as is. If we use chalk paint we seal it with Polycrilyc afterward. If we use exterior house paint we don't seal it at all.
