Nice! I love the safety skiver, and wanted to mention that you may get better results if, instead of holding the skiver perpendicular to the edge, you give it a steeper angle - more length of the blade encounters the leather at the same time, and makes uniform skiving easier.

I've been using an airbrush for resolene since my kids got me an airbrush kit from Amazon for Christmas. All I can say is I've never had such great results with resolene. It goes on even with no streaking which is a problem I've always had when following the instructions on the bottle. What a difference, especially on larger pieces.

With enough skiving and grooving you can make a lot of things. Had to say... 9-10 is getting up there though.

Would have to REALLY go deep with the V gouge and skiving and Magnus'trick with Vgouging as well as skiving the tabs would probably be a Must on that thick. But it could work. Also the gap in the corner under the tab might be needing to be bigger on thicker leather. But I'm not positive. Play with it and find out. Let us know what you get!
@regularguyknifechannel5753
@regularguyknifechannel5753 3 жыл бұрын
No , need, I tried with the 4-5 oz leather first, after dying, resist, antiquing and finishing, it was way stiffer, I couldn’t imagine trying this with 10 oz.

I sell a couple of armor items to the public, but otherwise I stick to patterns and art. I work in the film industry building props and costumes and have little to no interest in ever making something twice. I don't find it fun or challenging. So with KZbin I get to make something once and then move on to fun and exciting new projects, just like film.
