Woah, this is such an awesome video! One of the best and most informative videos on lenticular prints on KZbin! You are so good at presenting and you definitely deserve more viewers and subscribers. All the best!

Ooh neat, so I saw your video from 2 years ago too, didn't realize you were the same person lol. Out of curiosity, why did you put this on your second channel, btw?

hi, since your first video I decided to try it, and a useful tip for those who are also going to try it, the laser printer produces a sharper print making it easier to align the print with the lenses

Thank you very much for your video, very informative. I have an old passion for lenticular 3d images, but after seeing your tutorial, I'm completely discuraged: too many hassles, and its very difficult to buy the lenticular sheets too.

I havent watched the full video yet, but looking forward to this, I've attempted to try lenticular printing, but I have a hard time finding an affordable source to buy the lenses and I'm Canada.

I have had a theory for quite a while, but I don't know how to do it. Print a picture on lenticular paper to be put around a pillar. Inside the picture you have a picture of a fish maybe a trout suspended in the water. As you walk around the pillar you see the fish totally suspended there with his gills and fins moving. Do you think this is possible?

How does it work if you only have two pictures like from a 3D camera?

Hey, is possible with only two images? Thanks 😊

3DMK is... pricey, to say the least. Given that the lenticular sheets aren't cheap either, this ain't a hobby you do for fun. But the tutorial is great value for sure!

Hello Sam, thank you for the video. Very helpful and makes the whole process more accessible to the beginner. I had a question regarding print sizes. You printed the 6x4 of your car directly from 3DMasterkit. What if you wanted to print a larger size..for example an 8x10. Could you just take the now interlaced file that you made in 3DMasterkit, open it in Photoshop and print the larger size from there. I have 3DMasterkit and it's their entry-level version. I believe the print size limitation is 6x6, so I was looking for a possible solution (without having to incur additional costs) to being able to print bigger.

Thank you so much! Even if there’s a way to export the file to Photoshop, I believe scaling it up to 8x10 would change all of the properties so the image wouldn’t print properly for the lens. What I would suggest is successfully learn how to make the smaller size first, and then see if you can make it again using another program that’s free like Grape (which doesn’t have a size limitation that I’m aware of) That way you can make a larger interlaced image. Hope that helps!

Hi Sam, thank you so much for this great tutorial video. I really appreciate the work you've put into it. I am trying to learn lenticular printing, and I give up (semi permanently, lol) at least once a week. Thanks also for making available the artwork. It is very helpful to use these for trying out the process. Can I ask if the advanced version worked on 50 lpi? And why you decided to print it on 40 lpi lense - what were the advantage and disadvantages between the lenses? Many thanks 😊

You're welcome, it's definitely a tough project so hopefully it helps some people get through a few of the challenges. I had the same experience with my same video of giving up a lot, but I'm sure you'll be able to do it! Great questions! What printer are you using? I hope I didn't completely discourage anyone from trying the advanced version, it's definitely usable in a lot of setups, including 50 lpi. I just didn't feel as confident in the final result, and how untested it was. I did do a couple 50 lpi prints that I don't think I ever showed, but I think I deleted 2/3rds of the frames (so that the images go 1,4,7,10...etc), that way you end up with 12 frames, just like the mustang, but a similar car animation. I didn't mention this in the tutorial (there was a lot I ended up editing out so that it wasn't 2 hours long haha) but in terms of advantages, the 50 lpi has a slightly smaller viewing angle than the 40 lpi. That's why I ended up choosing the 40 lpi for the N-Vision design, but in the end, I felt like it didn't make a massive difference, and if I could do it over again, I would probably just do everything with the 50 lpi. Also even though I used an Epson for this whole project, an HP would work really well with all of these numbers (50 lpi, and either 12 or 36 frames)

Many thanks for the detailed response, Sam. I use an Epson EcoTank printer, tired your templates on both 50 and 75 lpi lenses, and was happy with results. Once again your tutorial was excellent and so well put together. Thank you.

@pop-upcardmaker That makes me so happy to hear!!! That’s awesome that you made the 75lpi work as well, I haven’t tried that one! Which lens did you like the look of better?

@@sam-beige250 lpi worked the best, 75 lpi looks clearer but the movement wasn't great as it cuts off. The blue car on 50 lpi was nice. The advance version only worked when I reduced the frames using 50 lpi.

is there an equivalent software of 3dmasterkit for macOS?
@sam-beige2

I believe Grape is for MacOS. It’s not as robust as 3DMasterkit or very user friendly, but it’s free (and also what I used for my first video on this subject)

How did you figure out the optimal camera angles in blender?
@sam-beige2
@sam-beige2 7 ай бұрын
It was some trial and error, but they’re far from optimal. I think I started with the viewing angle of the lens and made a few adjustments from there
