I’m relatively new to Notion and wanted to make my own database rather than taking a template. This video really helped me navigate the settings in ways that didn’t confuse me like other tutorials had! Thank you!

@@dltnio Other tutorials assume that we already understand the workarounds of Notion and without explaining the basic concepts they just throw at you a ton of things without really explaining the basic concepts and how does one thing "work" with the other (like when creating tables/formulas etc.), or where does it originate and follow up. Fx. In most tutorials i've seen nobody explain how to create something as basic as an "Authors" page so we can "link" it to our table, but you did it and you showed every step of the way. In a few words: I'm not surprised that me and a lot of people are really enjoying your videos because you start always teaching with a "blank page", not like others which their tutorial is already filled with things we can not understand. You start from 0 and show every move in a really digestible manner.

Newbie to notion and want to use it for so many tasks and functions. This was a very detailed and instructional video. And extremely easy to follow along without getting confused like some other tutorials I've watched. I really like how you do the tutorial without rambling on and getting off-topic. I read a lot and struggle sometimes when trying to figure out what books I read and all the authors when I'm at the bookstore. Now I can take my reading list with me. :) I love the option of the book notes template. Thank you! I look forward to watching some of your other tutorials.

I've got a "Library" database which regroups: books, movies, series, podcasts, notebooks (collection of linked notes from my note database around a same topic), but with your version, I still found a lot of cool ideas to add to mine (like the separate Author database). So, thank you a lot!

Great, this was a big help in designing a table for admin for my own books (author). The one thing I could't figure out yet: How to move a whole column that was added far to the right because I didn't think of that attribute beforehand. I can click and hold to move the HEADER of the column, but the rest stays where it was. Not very useful. Plus I can't find out how to do conditional highlighting. Reading reddit posts I suspect that it's not offered by Notion yet. I would like the table to automatically highlight the row or cell of a book if the book wasn't updated in more tha a year.

If you add a formula to calculate a number value for the star rating, then on the author table you can add a formula to average those numbers to generate a star rating for the author.
