*WARNING* Be super careful when crushing strike anywhere matches. I did so aswell in a mortar and pestle and it ignited on me. Gave me hand 3rd degree burns. but I'm 100% healed now with no scaring.. it was a year ago. Just be super cautious. Worst pain in my life.

Instead of using strike anywhere matches, you can use normal safety matches. It's called Armstrong's mix and here's how to make it: 1. Get big pliers, a knife, a cotton pad, a sieve and a razor blade 2. Take a full box of matches, make sure it's closed and squeeze the end of the box that has the matches with the pliers, open the box and pour out the powder, you may clean the rest off with your fingernails (I usually don't, matches are really cheap) 3. Put that powder on a full sheet of paper and grind the powder with the knife multiple times. 4. Get the fine powder and sieve it to remove any wood from using the pliers, grind it more with the knife (press the knife sideways on the paper and go over the powder) _you now have match powder, it won't ignite from shock but it can replace gunpowder and make firecrackers out of it_ 5. Get your empty match boxes and wet the phosphorus bands on the sides with the cotton pad, wait a few seconds and then go almost horizontal with the blade on the box, at first, it won't work well, but you'll get the feel. Put the strips of phosphorus on a plate (throw away any piece that has cardboard on it) 5. When you have the plate full of phosphorus strips, leave it to dry. 6. Your phosphorus is now dry and ready to grind, I usually cut it into small small pieces with my knife and then grind it with the knife normally. You can use what the guy used in the video. 7. You have the fine match powder, fine phosphorus, if you feel brave, mix it all together, if not, mix it as you need it. *Your Armstrong's mix is now done! You may use it for percussion caps or even firecrackers, it burns faster than gunpowder! (I can explain why gunpowder is better though, just leave a reply here)*

I just tried it... one head and some dry scrapping on the side of the box, at the fourth hit it detonated, surprised the hell out of me. Love the smell! Will try to make a paste with water or alcohool to make the cap. Thanks for your tip!

Made my own “fireworks” years ago by making my own gunpowder, it’s actually scary how easy it is to buy large amounts of potassium nitrate or Kn03 as it’s shown on websites and the other two ingredients are also easy to find , i progressed from small copper piping with hammering the ends shut with hole drilled in middle for fuse to bigger thicker pipes and the magnificent end product was my favourite which was a fire extinguisher which a lot of people don’t know when empty can be screwed open with the nozzle and end cap leaving you with a sizeable “firework” lol took me days to grind up the 1kg of gunpowder to fill it halfway ! Fully filled would not be necessary for maximum effect , i made the fuse about 4 ft long as haha overkill I know but was eager to get the hell away when i lit that thing ! It was enormous and before i blew it up was planning on progressing to the bigger fire extinguishers but the half size was enough for me ! Anyway please anyone reading *BE CAREFUL PLEASE* and live another day to have fun ! 👋🏽👋🏽👋🏽😁

I wonder if you could make the powder into a paste using something like alcohol or acetone, and let it dry inside the cap, eliminating the need for the wadding. It would likely improve your ignition rates.

I used to make this stuff all the time a few years ago. Be very careful and only do a small amount (a few match heads) at a time - I thought "I've done this so many times and never had a problem, so it should be fine if I double/triple the amount of match heads" - stupid idea! the powder ignited while i was grinding it fine. I thought I was careful enough, unfortunately this was not the case. Thanks to safety goggles and gloves I got away with a small scare.

@drose4life396 жыл бұрын
So the spark can go though the foil and ignite the powder inside? How is it gonna ignite it if you put foil under the cap?
@darkscienceyt6 жыл бұрын
No foil under the cap. The powder sits in the foil like a bowl. You placed a thin piece of tissue paper over the powder so it doesn't spill when you place the cap on the nipple of the gun. The tissue paper doesn't effect the charge or amount of fire that goes into the barrel. I've tested it a few times in the past and the gun is still able to fire.

Does it throw enough fire to ignite the powder charge?
@darkscienceyt5 жыл бұрын
It really depends, especially on the amount of powder you have in the cap. I've put the match powder in the barrel and used a match percussion cap. Sometimes with minimal powder it ignites the powder in the barrel. Other times I've packed the percussion cap and no ignition. It's more alot more dependent on the quality of the cap, and the opening on the nipple.

As a propellant? That seems dangerous.
@the_great_tigorian_channel4 жыл бұрын
Jonas Strzyz not really, handloaders or reloader enthusiasts use it from time to time. Is is a surprisingly adequate substitute for powder in a doomsday scenario but for all intents and purposes is far better used as the primer rather than propellant, mostly because it is shock sensitive where most propellants are not.

No. You're not making or modifying a firearm. Think of it like you're reloading ammo casings. So long as you don't sell your homemade caps, it's above-board. By the way, the Anarchist's Cook Book is almost completely outdated and incorrect. A lot of the substances and techniques in the book will either not work or will hurt you. The author even admitted so in interviews.
