@KZbin I need tutorials like this in my recommendations: tutorials that waste none of my time, that go straight to the point and are very clear. All jokes aside, this is what a tutorial should be. Well done, mate! For once there's someone on KZbin doing legit tutorials without wasting people's time - and that someone is you.

Added the extra FX I needed, very happy you didn't just go into filter curve and apply the default walkie-talkie preset like 90% of the other audacity tutorials, lol

Sounds great! (My audacity didn't have filter curve or equalizer, I just had to click Effect -> Add Plugin -> and click "enable" on Filter Curve)

nice tutorial my friend. Any idea how to add the radio break noise?
@timmytimmy97713 жыл бұрын
If you're talking about the chiptune (duduu) I would probably filter 2 tones on eachother and disort their attack/decay. Something like a 400hz start ending with a 800hz chip if you understand what I mean. This is just speculations though, so you'd need to play around with the values. I've got a lot of work ahead of me as of now, but I am thinking of making an update to this video in the future with some fun / cool additions to make it better. I'll reply to this comment again if/when I do that!
@hansgruber63583 жыл бұрын
@@timmytimmy9771 I'm definitely interested in a tutorial when you have time adding in the radio click/break. Is it authentic for ww2 radio traffic?
@timmytimmy97713 жыл бұрын
@@hansgruber6358 I wouldn't know about ww2 traffic, but at my previous job back in 2019 we used Rakel / Tetra (a swedish digital radio system designed for bluelight operations) and that one had no connection tones. There was just a chip from when the audio cut in and a chip when it cut out. The only tones we ever heard were: 1 beep: Mic ready 3 beeps: Radio disturbance / channel blocked (often related to sevral people trying to send at the same time) I have however used quite a few radio systems that uses connection beeps, and if I had to GUESS I'd think connection beeps was common back in the early 1900s (Don't quote me on that thlugh haha) (:

@timmytimmy97712 жыл бұрын

@Skizzum3 жыл бұрын
is that a plugin? because I don't have filter curve
@timmytimmy97713 жыл бұрын
No, this is the original audacity. Make sure you are running the latest version. If you are NOT running the latest version, this is called "Equalizer" instead look for that. Also, if english is your second language and you're running Audacity in your main language... God help you..
@alexmason4202 жыл бұрын
Can u make a video how to connect it to ps5?
@timmytimmy97712 жыл бұрын
Hey! Sadly that's not possible. Audacity is used to process pre recorded files and change them. You will need to look into a live feed filter for your microphone (:
@MoguliyaHochuliya3 жыл бұрын
There is a preset called "AM radio"
@timmytimmy97713 жыл бұрын
There is indeed! However that preset is made with the intent of simulating a high quality, well connected AM radio. In this tutorial we are trying to replicate a standard-issued radio used by police or military where connection is higher prioritized than sound quality (: The AM radio preset is great for some purposes, but in this specifik scenario it is not what we want.

Isn't there a way to use it in games?
@timmytimmy9771 Жыл бұрын
Absolutely. Just export the sound file as a .wav, .OGG or .mp3 file. If you want to use the effect in real-time you'd need to put an Equalizer filter over your mic. There are some tools for doing that, such as if you've got an Elgato mic: Wave Link
