Thank you. I just got some seeds for dwarf fruit trees. I just might want to keep them indoors year round. I will get a tub like that today. You should start an Amazon account. I could wrap visqueen around a shelf and get started

DIY Solar and Wind it should give them a good warm environment to get started! I am unfamiliar with the amazon account. How does that work?

I have a similar set up for my frankincense and myrrh tree seedlings. Even though I only start them in summer months, they need the heat.

What should the heat and humidity levels be? I’ve tomato seedlings are about 2 inches tall and I’m going to try the greenhouse I have the mats and lights but have no way of controlling the humidity and heat I hope this works
@TheMoreYouGrow
@TheMoreYouGrow 5 жыл бұрын
The heat mats hover around 75-80 usually and that’s a good temp. If the lights get it too hot just raise the lights a bit, but that can cause your seedlings to become distended. This is why now I usually recommend people to use LED Grow lights since they don’t put off heat. Humidity can be controlled by cracking the lid if the humidity gets too high

I live in OH and although it's considered "Spring" the warm temps won't arrive for another month or so. Anyway, I've got some cherry tomatoes and herbs I need to start but I don't have $300-500 for a DIY Ikea shelving greenhouse setup! That shelving unit is awesome! That's quite a find, right there! I def subbed ty for all the info 🤍 Edit: Would mylar on the back work for seedlings as well as the lights and heat mat or would it get too hot? Thanks in advance 🌱☘️💚

It gets pretty hot in these to the point I have to leave the lid cracked a lot to vent it

No problem. The biggest limitation you’ll have is light. I still have to work to keep enough light intensity to keep my seedlings from growing too elongated

What temp and humidity do you need
@TheMoreYouGrow
@TheMoreYouGrow 2 жыл бұрын
Just warm so like 80° f is good. Humidity can get really high in these so I crack the lid at times to vent it if it’s too high

I only have balcony that doesn't get sun but has indirect light. I live in pompano beach so its hot. Do I need a heat mat and I'm interested in growing bok choy, green onions, b. srpouts and broccoli. Is this possible. I like your container greenhouse and i'm wondering what can i grow completely inside of it? thanks so much for your help.
@TheMoreYouGrow
@TheMoreYouGrow 4 жыл бұрын
Pompano Beach Real Estate you would t need a heat mat I imagine. This design isn’t really for growing to harvest, but more as a seed starting greenhouse. You would probably be fine with growing leafy greens in containers on your balcony though

@TheMoreYouGrow
@TheMoreYouGrow 4 жыл бұрын
Pompano Beach Real Estate this may not be something you even need to be honest. This is designed to get seeds started in during the cold winter months. If it doesn’t get cold there there’s really no need

Would it be a good idea to drill holes in the top to allow a bit of air circulation or no? Thank you for posting this.
@TheMoreYouGrow
@TheMoreYouGrow 5 жыл бұрын
If humidity/heat gets to be too high you could or just leave the lid off for a little while to vent it/decrease some of the humidity. The air content (CO2 and O2)is fine though. Most people don’t know that plants actually take in and release both CO2 and O2. I usually demonstrate that to my school students and blow their mind 😜

Hello...Im from Malaysia. Is this practical in tropical countries ?
@TheMoreYouGrow
@TheMoreYouGrow 3 жыл бұрын
Not really necessary in tropical countries. This is basically for if you live in a climate that experiences cold climate and makes it where you are able to get a head start on planting seeds during winter

Hi can I do this for my lavender cuttings?
@TheMoreYouGrow
@TheMoreYouGrow 2 жыл бұрын
You can try it! I will say that lavender doesn’t like excess humidity and soil moisture but a little until the get rooted will help them from drying out too fast

cant u put that greenhouse outside in winter? in the sun
@TheMoreYouGrow
@TheMoreYouGrow 6 жыл бұрын
No, it’s not insulated from the cold outside even in the sun. This is more as a way to get seeds and small plants growing indoors rather than a full outdoor style greenhouse. I plan to get an outdoor greenhouse built this summer or fall though!

What about in early spring when the temps are in the 50’s? I am starting seeds this year on the window sill with just natural sunlight in small containers and then transplanting them to larger pots when they’re big enough but want to put them outside in the storage containers.
