1:11 Gotta be careful with the haas effect though as it might create phasing issues. It can sound nice though. Just remember to check phase and mono compatibility after doing this.

Great concept, very systematic approach, always illustrated by an example. Love your style.

Lol I was waiting for a tutorial like this for about a month. Just tried getting a sound coming from behint with a reverb with a delay of around 200ms and ~80% mix. Works also pretty well but I LOVE the DEAR Reality plugin that I sadly actually discovered here first. And of course, that it's free is a pure DREAM

This is great information, I've been working on an FL Studio patcher preset for headphone monitoring. The main interest is translatable replication of true stereo imaging within a headphone environment. I know there are plugjns out there that can do this, but i wanted to create something simple that doesn't rely heavily on convolution. The Anaglyph plugin looks particularly interesting, would be great to have a deeper delve into some of the processes included in Anaglyph. Btw, this channel is great!

To see these concepts in action I highly recommend looking up ‘virtual haircut’ on YT and watching with headphones. It’s uncanny how realistic 3D mixing can be if done right.

But that’s just a binaural recording. It’s not using these concepts, just two microphones placed where the listeners ears should be.
@oliverquach96142 жыл бұрын
@@davidasher22 Yes. ‘Two microphones’ meaning it’s in stereo (left+right), which is what Sage is discussing here. Unless I’m missing something.
@davidasher222 жыл бұрын
@@oliverquach9614 well, he’s not talking about binaural recording at all. He’s talking about different ways to create 3 dimensional sounds afterwards during mixing. None of the concepts he mentioned were used for that barbershop recording. That was just a binaural set up and a performance based around that binaural “head”. The things mentioned in this video are ways to make mono and stereo signals more 3D. Never does he mention using a binaural miking technique. He does suggest using binaural effects like the free Dear VR plugin and the binaural plugin that comes with Logic but this is all post recording. Do you understand the difference now?
@oliverquach96142 жыл бұрын
@@davidasher22 Practically speaking, you’re making a distinction without much of a difference. Your point about 2 ‘mono’ sounds playing left/right could easily be used to describe stereo sounds too. You can reply if you want but Im not going to get into the weeds with you on this, I just thought folks might find the barber video interesting, it’s not that deep.

Been using the anaglyph plugin and it's pretty taxing, even on my beefy system. I've noticed when I overuse it, it just seems to flicker or drop off and when I keyframe the sound source position it really seems to drop. Can't figure out why and I really don't want to have to render each of the couple dozen or so elements individually.
@sageaudio Жыл бұрын
Weird! No clue why it's doing that - maybe try an alternative. If you're using Logic, the binaural panner is great and low CPU. Or the free plugin transpanner by Artists in DSP is a good one

@@sageaudio Thanks for the plugin suggestions. I'll have to check those out for the next time. Complete novice when it comes to audio stuff but I'm not sure the specs are an issue. The workstation build was for 3D and is using a 4090 and a 13900k which seems like overkill. I'm sure it's a very bad practice but I ended up just using OBS to record desktop and my timelines playback live 😅

Can i try dis in mastering make my master sound more 3d or only of beat

@oliverquach96142 жыл бұрын
On a master? AFAIK, not really. You can easily do things with your stereo image (width/mid-side/panning), but when it comes to putting a ‘piano behind the vocal’ or something I can’t think of a practical way of achieving that without separating stems.
@Sheriffvlogs2 жыл бұрын
@Oliver u can easily do this in Dolby-atmos atmos With individual stems.
