This is so cool! I have an old bowling ball I'd like to repurpose....would the grout and tape still work or would I have to go another adhesion method? Thanks!

It seems like if you don’t use grout and mastic for exterior use it would not hold up.. how have these held up in the outside elements?

I believe it was polyblend sanded grout.

Why the layer of weird grid stuff? Why can't you just grout tiles right to foam?

It is drywall mesh. It adds strength to the piece and also helps the thin-set adhesive stick to the foam.

Why two coats of mesh.....I use one coat of sticky fiber tape and slurry and the next day one more coat of thin set......works perfect for years of enjoyment

I sell them and want to be sure they are very durable. It's what works for me.
