Hello JP, I am just getting back to running a wood lathe ( haven’t seriously turned anything in 30 years) dusted off and got a lathe running again as well in the last few months. Could you do an in depth video on making the mounting recesses for chucks, proper use of face plates and such! Like I said it has been a little while !

Funny you say that, they were both videos I was planning on doing at some time in the future…. Have fun getting back into the craft 👍🏻

@ I intend to, I am also trying to get my kids involved in wood working!

@ well we have to teach the hobbies and trades to our kids now at home because all the industrial arts classes are moving to trade or tech schools where you now get a G.E.D. And little job placement opportunities, vs going through HS and being able to test out some of the trades and get your diploma. Besides I also believe that the future generations need to learn how to do for themselves vs paying through the nose for a small repair!

Amen to that!! Seems like less and less houses are owning simple power tools these days as they don’t know how to fix simple tasks and would rather pay over the top prices

Would you mind holding the tool up to camera, some i can tell easily others i can't. I'm new to wood turning. Thankyou for great videos.

I could start putting a picture of the cutter up on screen as I’m using it? How’s that? But also for reference when I say ‘finisher’ that is a large round one, ‘rougher’ is a square one and the ‘detailer’ is a diamond shape one….. oh and the No1 hollower is also circle only a smaller diameter…. Hope this helps
