5:41 Don't do that 'by eye'. Use the align tool to centre two pieces.

There is a align tool?

Yes. To the right of Group and Ungroup. @@blackness010

Align tool for centering, not by eye. Ctrl D to duplicate the thread in the nut, then move over to your bolt head so you have 2 exact threads, a little bit of tweaking with thread scale and pitch to make an easy fit

I think you gave it a good try. This actually did give me a general idea so thank you for the help, but I think you know by now you missed a few steps with this but thank you for this.

will printing the same dimension threads as a nut and bolt make fitting parts? doesn't the bolt have to be slightly smaller in diameter?
@joeemenaker7 жыл бұрын
"ISO" doesn't mean "isometric". It means "International Standards Organization", responsible for setting... well... international standards for things like... well... screw/nut sizes and pitches.
@zoemadethis3 жыл бұрын
You're right, but he's actually saying the name of the object, which is "ISO metric thread" :)
@sjoer5 жыл бұрын
You forgot to resize the thread radius of the nut to be a little bigger, if you print it like that it won't fit.

I have a crazy question Can I take a pic of a shape and move it over to this program and then adjust it? Like a hook or a coat hanger? Great video thanks for sharing this helps a lot!

With a little big of creativity i'm almost certain you could use this guide here to do what you were thinking. 3dprintingsystems.com/converting-images-into-3d-models/

So would it have been easier to just make the bolt first, then duplicated it, and made the screw part a hole, and viola, you have a perfect working nut and bolt?

Is it possible to make lengths of threaded bar more then 20 Rotation ? Cheers great Video..

hello and good you did a great tutorial, could you tell me the exact measures on the side of a dice? because when I go to draw a die, I always get a little longer on one side.

You’re not showing the simple centering tool also, you’re not showing the grouping to make the holes

You had a bit of terminology wrong but you still got the point across to a point. You didn't show how to save your images while working on it if the power fails!

Maybe you should do a practice run on presentation first before you stumble on what you are doing.
