Round Strong solid and durable Dog Leash
Inspired by German Shepherd's coat color : Black and Tan
You will get two qty of 6 ft lead for 200 yards of paracord.
This project used 50 ft black and 50 ft tan Paracord (wound to tight or use 70 ft loosely wound)
Start with Matthew Walker knot followed by hundreds of Crown knot.
Then splice in the end
2 qty 40 lbs rated snap hooks ( use higher rating if you wish ) or use carabiners
2 qty 200 lbs rating ring rings
Do you need another excuse to have more paracords with you?
Dog leash configurations
1. Dog Collar: 4 ft with 2 loops (1 small and 1 medium) Use for when dog is not wearing a collar *Ring placement must be precise. Pre-measure
2. Normal use: 5 ft with 1 small loop. Open snap hook end connects to a dog collar
3. Medium Length - Normal use: 4 ft 8 inches with 1 medium loop. Open snap hook end connects to dog collar
4. Shorter Length - Normal use: 3 ft 9 inches with large loop. Open snap hook end connects to dog collar
5. Shortest Length - Normal use: 3 ft with extra large loop. Both snap hooks end connect to dog collar
6. Extra short - Control: 9 inches. Metal ring and a snap hook connect to dog collar
7. Hands free: Same as #4 but the large loop wraps around waist. *You must measure the ring placement during creation of the lead.
I would say that this would be my best Dog Leash or versatile dog leash

First knot to difficult especially with your thumb blocking the cords. Cannot get this knot to tighten

how did you add the beads to the leash??

oobergoeybanana start with a single paracord (length that you like)... just poke it through or between the crown knots. Then add the beads ( beads are from arts and crafts store- hobby lobby) with holes in the center. After you added the beads and arrangement you like, Then tie a knot to prevent beads from coming off.

Thanks everso for showing us how to do this as my dog Maddi keeps eating through all hers so i thought rather than shell out for yet another lead i would try and find a tutorial on how to make one and i found yours .Its wicked and youre an excellent teacher! ;-)

Thank you for the upload sir! I had a question on how to start off making this leash. I have 2 pieces of 50 ft paracord, do I pull the clasp all of the way to the middle of the two strands and tie the first knot from there?

Yes... Correct. Also, it is very important to give yourself "extra". I say work with 65 ft each...

Awesome. Thanks very much! In your opinion, what is the best way to keep track of these super long strands while you are working towards the beginning? Do you leave them all loose around your feet? Seems to get a bit tangled (a lot tangled...).

Yes... I just have it laying out. Check out 5:40 timeline. I occasionally get tangled up after doing 10 or so. Then I reset gain by laying out strands again - unravelling. Thank you again very much and good luck with the project!
