I got an idea while watching this video, after you cut the inner rubber string to create a hollow space,instead of heating the paracord directly, you can also use a heat shrink rubber tubing of desired length equivalent to FID and then use lighter to shrink the tube, please let me know what are your thoughts.

Thanks for the tip. I'm just getting into paracording and have no fids yet. Used this method and works great.

Use super-glue to soak 2-3 inches of cord, let it get hard and shape the tip with sand paper.

I suggest rolling it on a heat proof surface after it is softened from the lighter

You are using a new touch lighter. Who makes it and or where can I pick one up?

I use a small twig, or a little bit of glue. Even a broken paperclip. I am seriously pyro phobic and o have PTSD so I find what ever I can use
@cloud48897 жыл бұрын
Maybe you could insert a toothpick inside the cord before you burn it to make it more stiff to minimize the burning process.

Yes yes yes... that's a super idea Jin... Thanks.

I use tooth picks for my fids . Take a little bit of the guts out . Insert toothpick . And melt it on there

That's definitely an interesting idea and I don't see why it wouldn't work. Have you tried making a fid with shrink tubing?
@fusion_fever15924 жыл бұрын
@@TheWeaversofEternity not yet,as I mentioned in my reply,I got that idea while watching that vdo when you used the heat to harden paracord after removing the inner rubber strings, still will try it as I am about to make a watch strap out of paracord..yet to finalize the weaving pattern...

+BlueAeroVanilla Do you have any suggestions for good royalty free music in that case?
@BlueAeroVanilla8 жыл бұрын
This site has hundreds of royalty free music to select from. All you need to do is post their copyright information in the comments of your video: incompetech.com/music/royalty-free/

lol wtf is "better" music. music preference is totally subjective; just because you like something doesn't mean everyone else has to like it too.
@TheWeaversofEternity8 жыл бұрын
I've been through incompetech's library and the music from epidemicsound.com is far superior. Also "better" is subjective.
