Sweet. You have most definitely alleviated my fear of the choking hazard and the modded buckle to become breakaway was very clever. I work in a warehouse and I’ve been wanting to create my lanyard and now I’m sure of how I want to do it 😁 thank you!

Watching your Channel God back into paracord after 45 years when I was a child doing macrame use that to occupy my time in the dorm being bored made some cool stuff and just gave it away for free. That's cool how much give me 10 minutes and I'll pop one out keep up the good work enjoy your Channel

I just finished this for my nephew's Christmas present. It sits around your neck very comfortably and feels very sturdy. Thanks!

How would we do a 2 color ? Just use 7 ft of each color and fuse that together for one side and start it the same way? Then do the othe side the same? Thank you if you have any suggestions

Ever end up doing the snake knot lanyard ?

I made the other lanyard with the cobra knots and I had almost a good 8 inches left ... but, I also make my knots very tight... so, I unedited everything and then I made two 16 inch long "cores" and then I made a Dualtone colored lanyard that way... it turned out greatly cool... I used the same two colors, black and crimson, to make the detachable piece... I gave the lanyard away to a friend who likes my bracelets that I make... should have taken a picture of it first! I’m going to make a fishtail one when my order or paracord finally comes in...

I want to make one but I don’t see where it says how long of Lara cord is used for each side of the lanyard. It does say the length of the side lanyards is approximately 16” but how much longer does it need to be for doing the cobra weave or whatever weave your doing to finish the side of each lanyard?

I'm unclear on a couple things. How much cord is needed per side? If I don't want a buckle in the section that goes around the neck, how would I do that? Can you show how to make this with two colors please?

Great video. One question, how long should one side be? You stated that your using a measurement from your previous lanyard. I’ve cut two 14 foot sections and have run out of paracord when finishing one side. Is there a rule of thumb when selection a length on how much cord is needed?? Thanks in advance
@TheWeaversofEternity5 жыл бұрын
Hey Michael, hmmm that's odd that you ran out. However, other things can come into factor like tightness of the knots and the paracord itself. With the fishtail, 1 foot per inch should be more than enough in general.

Best video I've found and quick & simplest braid for my rifle sling i'm planning. Slow enough to follow and fast enough to not get bored. I like a pic of the end product at the start to know if its something I'm interested in. Also would like to know the finished length to calculate approximate cord length I'll need, although I realize results will vary depending on how tight each person pulls the strands. Thank you

Also thankful for the links, they're helpful too. Would like to know over/ under sequence of 6 strand core of fish braid.

What if you did not want to have a clip around the neck, so just one solid lanyard, would you just measure your total overall cord and tie it off at the key clip? Sorry if that doesn’t make sense.

Just found your channel, and enjoying the vids. Brings me back to my childhood when we used to make keychains, etc with this flat plastic (cord) in a macrame style. WAY before “your time”. Found this vid inspired me to wonder about suitability of your designs for (Custom) Dog Leashes. Need strength because I work with “power breeds” (Rotties, Rhodesians, American Bulldogs, etc.). I currently get them custom made using heavy duty 1” Nylon Strap. Is there an application to suit my needs ? I like TWO handhold ‘loops’. One very close to dog’s collar, if you need to Quickly draw dog close. The other ‘loop’ at the (traditional) End. I like my Leads to be NO MORE than 3’ total. Your thoughts ? T Y

Can you show us how to make one without the quick release. Start in one end and finish in same end. ??
@TheWeaversofEternity5 жыл бұрын
If you don't want the quick release, just don't use the buckle in the middle and tie the fishtail in one continuous piece. Like you said, start on one end and finish on the same end.

you should have some space in the buckle where the first cows hitch is to put the jig through
