It also works if you fuse two pieces of rope together and use where the two ends connect into as your beginning loop/point :)

Are you just braiding around the middle strands? If so, then will the middle strands need to be a little bit shorter than the outer strands?

After you've set up your project the first step for this is just as it's shown in the video. If making a bracelet with a buckle you can start by following this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/o2qwiJt5nryjqtU If you want two colors you can do the same steps with a spliced piece of cord. I really need to get better at putting the starting step for bracelets in the descriptions for these videos. I'm also planning on making some more videos of how to work with paracord that will help with making projects with these patterns. I may also make some full project videos as well where I can fit in all the steps for a complete project. Hopefully this helps!

take two pieces of rope or one.. loop it thru a keyring or whatever u want it on.. & u start to knot the rope.. i used one piece of rope & looped it thru my small digital thermometer & i started the knot & tightened down each knot real good.. imagen the two strands he has not being there.. you wont get the color change with one piece of rope.. you just gotta try it

Idk what I'm doing wrong, mine doesn't have the same knot shape and I can't get them to go together.

Hmm? It's hard to say what to do without being able to see how you are doing it. I would recommend making sure that you bring each piece over or under the right cords. Sometimes if you bring one over that should go behind you can end up with the wrong knot. Are you trying to make a bracelet? Did you get the bracelet started off okay? Is it just the pattern that is giving you trouble?

Can this be done with 4 colors in the same pattern? ⚪🟢 ⚫🔴 ⚪🟢 ⚫🔴

It sure can. If making a bracelet, you could splice the white and green together to make a cord and then the black and red together to make another. It's similar to the two color except you will alternate the snake knot with the cords. I don't think I can adequately explain it without showing it.
