Hello, and thank you for your question. Nope, I've been using this type of braided hose to repair Jeep 4.0L PCV systems for many years. It's the braiding that prevents collapse. Other hoses (like the lower-priced, clear tubing) get soft when they get warm, and collapse rather quickly. So the "proper" repair would be a molded hose, but this hose also performs well. Mine collapsed....wasn't cheap...just doesn't work....I'm trying a 1/4 thread through the 1/2....should work....

When i bought my jeep the guy before me used a air compressor hose,it was melting at the base and leaking,ill try this out! So he has the front hose going to where your back hose goes does that matter? Where your back hose is he has a small air filter
