I just made this pie and it came out great. I had a little too much filing for regular pie shell so next time I will use 1 cup of sugar and 1 cup of corn syrup. I also added a tablespoon of bourbon to the pie. I will certainly make it again.

Hey there!! You can cut the syrup down to 3/4 cup if you are using a smaller pie pan. Yes, you can also cut down on the sugar to 3/4 cup as well. Adding the Bourbon will work as well. Overall, I'm happy to hear that the pecan pie was successful. Thanks for leaving feedback!

Ok I have made these 3 times, I have learned that I don't need to bake them for 1 hour and 10 mins, only 55 mins @ 350 degrees. They are the BEST, my mom, sister and children absolutely loved him. It was the highlight of the Christmas desserts!!

Making one of these right now. hope it comes out all right all I had was regular corn syrup and regular milk but I just went with it, it overflowed my store bought pie crust and ran all over the counter lol but I managed to get it in the oven on a sheet pan now just hoping for the best.

Oh wow. You must be careful when using those store made crusts. They aren't like the standard pie pans. Next time just add less batter into the pan then bake it.

@@CharlieTheCookAndrews omg. I have made a pie every 4 days & they turned out perfect! Yummy. It's a good thing I need to gain 40 lbs so that way I can eat it for breakfast, lunch & dinner. It's so easy, I failed miserably on my first one 15 yrs ago hence never made it until a few wks ago. Had I known I would've tried again. I put a tablespoon of corn starch in mine. Next I will learn making my own crust with lard, you can't beat homemade crust when made by our Grandma's od fashioned methods. I know it's not healthy per se but if I don't gain, the Dr is putting in a permanent/temp feeding tube. I'd rather stuff my mouth with pecan pie anyday vs that feeding tube.

Does the glass pie pan help the bottom of the pie crust bake better. Ive always had problems with the bottom of the crust not browning as much as it should. Who dat!

Yes it should brown at the bottom especially when it's frozen before being baked.

Charlie after the pie is done and cool down do you put it in the fridge or you can leave it on the counter

@@bignukwilliams9680 Majority of the time, I leave my pecan pie out at room temp because it's a bunch of sugar. lol You could also place it into the fridge but when you take it out, make sure you let it set out for at least 1 hour or longer before serving!
