In this episode we show you how you make a homemade slug trap.
This is a beer-baited slug trap made from empty drinking water bottles. It introduces no harmful chemicals into the garden and does not harm the local wildlife (apart from the slugs). It also re-purposes items which would normally have been thrown away.

Hope the Beetles cant get in i made a slug beer trap a while ago with no top but it also trapped the beetle which eat slugs i beleive this method looks like it wont trap the beetles

Do these have to be buried in soil for them to access? I have a load of slugs hanging around my walls, I can put some in the garden bed, but not sure if that will move them away from the house if not close enough?

Using cut down plastic bottles recently at my allotment..I buried these until the tops were level with the ground [no internal doubling up sleeve] The merry making slugs drown and the effect is cumulative over several nights. There are much cheaper beers than John Smiths . Cheap Cider also supposed to be good. Its effective and provides some gratification especially if recently well intended vegetable plants are being anhiliated. Plastic cloches or tubes * home made improvised with a double (2") ring of copper tape and a surround of coffee grounds - fairly effective ...as is tight netting and a peppering of slugs pellets .

you want to get rid of snails and slugs - get a pie pan and fill it with beer and put it in your flower bed in the evening - the next morning - if there are slugs in your flower bed, the pie tin that was filled with beer will be filled with slugs and snails - I tried it and it works every time. You will be amazed at how many slugs and snails are in your flower beds, especially if they never have been treated for them.
