I just found this after looking for a temporary solution until I get the electrics wired in.heater and waterproof sockets fitted just the wiring to outside to do. Hopefully just keep the temp up enough for the two pepper plants mum gave me, and the hanging baskets to stop getting too cold. Thank you for the video very informative.

Similar to your plastic forks idea, I use the bamboo skewers you can get from the supermarket and place them pointy side up in areas I don't want cats to mess in or dig up new seedlings. I've also found sprinkling cayenne pepper around where cats have pooped before deters them, vinegar can work for this too.
