I just got back on 6m after 28 years !! what a hoot. Yes, FT8 for now... but I have put out a couple of CQ's on the CW portion and need a gain antenna. I am looking at either a Moxon or Hexbeam, gotta figure out what I want. Thanks for the video, 73, KB2QQM

Which is better, the hexbeam or the Moxon? They seem like similar concepts.

I cannot find calculators online anywhere. What resources did you find most helpful for modeling/measuring everything?

Applause for trying! Is there any ham whose antenna experiment was troublesome? Doubt it! I am going to try something like this for field day 2022!

Wonder if it will tune to 433MHz also. (I have a 2m dipole with aluminium tubing which tunes on 433, 145 & 50MHz) Considering building a 10m & 6m hexbeam to use at home in the Summer here on South Coast UK. Cheers de G6ASJ.

Mick next time I have a chance I will try to remember to check it on 433 if I still have the comet analyzer! Thanks for watching and the comment!

Hi, nice video. I'd like to know if have some interaction to use aluminum spreader to fix the elements. I intend to build one for 5 bands and here in Brazil doesn't have fiberglass spreaders. Thanks best 73 from PR7TU.
@KK6USYHamRadioAdventures4 жыл бұрын
Ramiro, yes I think it would interact for sure, try wood dowels or bamboo maybe. Thanks for the comment!

William I wish more Hams would get on 6m , it seems they only want to get on when the band opens. 6m could be a great band for short distance especially if your area is flat, I think 6m is on the edge of line of site. Thanks for the comment and good luck on your build. If you have any problems email me. 73

KZbin has this weird phenomenon where people add a T to the word across. I've lived in opposite sides of some of those States from California all the way to Pennsylvania And I've never heard someone in person say "accrost" But I hear it on KZbin probably every day. My suspicion is that people are trying to enunciate their words and do it wrong. There are a few more words I hear frequently that a similar thing happens. I'm not criticizing I'm actually trying to find out if you Say it that way in person like some people say worsh instead of wash or if it is a KZbin thing
