In this video I make a mini microphone recording booth, out of 9mm OSB wood and sound insulation foam panels. I think it is a really must do project especially for KZbin creators and podcasters.
Tools and materials I propose:
corner clamps: amzn.to/2pOGHgz
Acoustic Foam: amzn.to/2Puz0au
Miter box: amzn.to/2pIkscc

It sounds like you are inside of a wooden box. Great job if that was what you wanted to achieve.

Wow. I don’t have a KZbin channel, so I don’t know about this type of equipment, but the success of this project is clear when comparing the sound quality.

Pay attention all u content creators who make "tutorials" on ur channels, THIS right here is the perfect way to do a tutorial. I hate when u click on a "tutorial" video & its just a video of someone filming themselves doing something.. there's absolutely no narration.. or monologue.. there's no explanation as to why they are taking those steps.. and the video ends up being a waist of time and of little to no help at all... i just I want to smack some of those people.. i wish all tutorials offered this level of help guidance and information... GREAT job bro

Thank you. Although I no longer add narration to my videos. Believe it or not most people didn't like it. And it was much more time consuming for me. So I stopped doing it. On the other hand you can find a link in the description of my videos linking to a blog article with more details about each project. Basically it's the narration written in an article.

The booth is a great idea and a great implementation as well. However, I think you oversaturated the voice and I can hear distortion in the sound. Maybe you set the gain too high or overly compressed the voice or maybe my headphones are crappy, but I think with a little tweaking, it can be even better! Also, for the echo of the room, as someone mentioned, you can build a panel behind you, but you can also just use a blanket on a frame for testing purposes, it should do a reasonably good job!
@ScrapwoodCity
@ScrapwoodCity 5 жыл бұрын
You are right about the distortion, I think it was because I was talking too loud in the beginning! I kind of found a sweet spot after a while!

@@ScrapwoodCity yep...you're welcome. I used to make musical recordings with an 8track digital recorder...drums, guitar, bass, harmonica, etc. Was never good at vocals, but I've practiced a lot since then. Thinking about doing some more recording and this would be a nice addition to my equipment. 👍😎

it has too much low end and sounds really boxed in, but alot of it can probably be taken out in a recording program. im trying to build a vocal booth for vocals but im looking at alternatives that are cheaper such as this. its a great concept but i'd really like to hear it with the low end being reduced with a program just to see how well it can sound
@ScrapwoodCity

@@ScrapwoodCity have you heard of the isovox? I might create my own, except bigger so i don't sound too boxed in. I like your concept, maybe a bigger box with sound absorbing material and acoustic tiles on top of it would work. I'm thinking rockwool but i have to see if its hazardous to my health

Such a simple little thing but a great improvement. I suppose it cuts down on noises from outside too, like traffic-noise. Was the foam expensive? Was it easy to get? Could you use some other kind of foam?
@ScrapwoodCity

Yes indeed it cuts the noises. The foam not that expensive but not cheap either. You can get even better and more expensive foam.
