No need;;;;;;;; just chuck it in your *drill* and shape it with a file,sand paper,a stone..in the other hand.....i bring a grinder to it (caution,danger,i've doing it for decades to TURN LOTS of stuff!!!) edit oops i had not seen it needed to be hollowed out lol

Thank you! Quite new to soldering on a more advanced level and I've been wondering why I havent seen any people using brass to make tips.. its either copper or iron you find people using.. And since I recently moved I've yet to have my workshop set up.. And since I just recently started my business.. I have the more "high end" iron and my Cheap "for whatever" Iron.. Out of which both are equally important for their respective intended purposes.. So seeing this confirmed really made me happy! All of the sudden I've got a ton of tips with just a little work :)Greatly appreciated!

Bonjour Melle. Il existe en tournage une aide quand t'on tourne une pièce plus longue que trois fois le diamètre. Ça s'appelle une contre pointe. Ça permet de tourner des pièces un peu longue et ça évite surtout de cassé son outil de cassé ça pièces ce qui est toujours embêtant car il faut la refaire. Mais surtout ça peut vous éviter un accident grave . Pin outil qui casse peut partir dans n'importe quelle direction à la vitesse de environ 200km/h ce qui peut faire de gros dégâts. Metal like brass, copper, iron works well but I recommend you to watch some Indian KZbinrs videos not consider spesific KZbinr I watched Sumer experiment,Mr dharonia, also watch technical sokil he made soldering iron with less tools. I think it helpful for you. if someone can not make stuff due to tools or any reason which I don't like that.

Copper is far superior to brass ---bset for lead soldering ---less flux --neater work !

Please help me i need your help Essentially i am sorry for my bad english I need to make an electric wood burner to draw on the wood with electro burn but it must to be with this points 1_ the burner must be work at 220 volts not not 12 volts it mus be work at direct electric current 220 volts where no transformers and no battery and no power splay its just only 220 volt direct current 2_ the special iron nail which be at the top of burner must be very hot and high temperature that the nail becomes to be red color 3_ it is better if that easy to make a simple termo stat or a variable electrical resistance to controle with temperature Thank u very very much and best reguards

Somebody needs to find who's writing and recording these little background tracks on KZbin videos and insert 450° soldering tips directly into there pupils, repeating 4-6 times. The tip can be home made or store bought doesn't matter just make sure it's hot and ready.

You do not show us properly how the copper tip in the insulation has the NiCrhome wire 1 mm gauge around it and how that connects to the brass wire with the NiChrome wire knot. I myself wanna repair a Parkside cordelss gun I bought from Lidl. I got copper, NiChrom 2 mm gauge and no brass nut a needle and also insulator. My insulator burns. Also the tip had welded NiChrome from factory but I do not know how to put it back on
