Consider roughing the surfaces to be taped with sand paper. It'll help the tape bond really well and make the contraption that much more durable.
@Kewlus4 жыл бұрын
Kitchener Leslie good idea. Also use good quality tape which sticks to the ball very well and doesn’t come of.

Finished mine today. Brand new boxing glove red ball $6. Bunnings PVC, black duct tape, clamp and toilet plunger, $18.50. Attached head of toilet plunger to ball and fitted to PVC, clamped to thicker length which inserted into my 'borrowed' temporary fence stand. Used two thick rubber washers around base where meeting stand for protection and spring. Taped entire length in black Duct tape. Looks great, works farking fantastic. Cost 25 bucks took me an hour.

WOW 🤩
@OsmiumFist4 жыл бұрын
I beat mine today like the red headed step child for 45 minutes. Solid as. Might cut a sleeve of pvc and put it over the joint and clamp it on each end so it will not break at the joint. I see that as the only weak spot. P.S dunny plunger attached to ball is better as made to fit that size pvc. Gives flexibility and a bit of movement for the ball.
@Kewlus4 жыл бұрын
Osmium Fist brilliant idea 🤙 I didn’t think of using a cheap toilet plunger but it’s probably the best option. Kudos to you bro! 🤙👌

Thank you for this video. I'm on a budget so this is great. Atm all I have in my small apartment is a homemade bag made from a pillow case, some old clothes, and a dog bed. Makes a better kicking pad tbh.

I purchased both the medium kzbin.infoUgkxfh2XUOHWYHKQYOvSq2gZ6PyCmVkTFGWz and small speed bags from Meister. I'm very glad I got both as the workout is quite different from the two. The small is fantastic for getting your speed built up once familiar with your striking. The medium bag provides a considerable amount more resistance building more strength in your punches. I highly recommend both sizes.Some people have expressed concern over the latex bladder leaking down more frequently than the traditional rubber. I have not found this to be an issue at all.
@joeydube4203 жыл бұрын
ok im going to make it with out the platform. I need to be able to move around the bag 360 degrees. Youve given me some good ideas. You'd be able to adjust the speed and movement of it if you can adjust how deep it goes into the base.

You could probably add a few strips over the top of the ball and down to the funnel to wrap over it and get a more secure hold. That way, the ball is less likely to come free when you punch it.

You could build a base with an old car tyre and a bag of concrete. You need a base where you can move around rather than stand in place. I've been thinking of making one for a while, this video is awesome. Great job. Mind you I bought a ceiling to floor bag on ebay for $17 bucks and it's fine. Sports stores in Oz are such a rip off.

Just found the perfect base. One of those orange plastic fence post stands they fill with concrete, the ones they use on temporary fencing around building sites etc. Fucker weighs at least 25 kg and has the perfect sized hole already, there is a site just down the street where a building job has gone belly up. Borrowed a couple of unused ones.....now need to get some pvc and a ball. I also use a bit of PVC storm water pipe as my foam roller. Much better than foam.

Personally I would've took the tape from the bottle neck up and over the top of the ball to the other side of the bottle neck in three or four places then taped around the bottom. I could see that eventually coming off and going through a window with a good hit after some use.
@Kewlus4 жыл бұрын
Thanks, I haven't thought of that! I'm keeping an eye on the tape though. So far it's stuck solid - pays to use good quality tape.

Can you make a parts list in the description box with measurements for your pvc pipes etc.???
When I made this it instantly broke after a few punches. Don’t recommend making this design, try making his newest version with a spring. Basicly the funnel broke after 3 hits and the bottle top bent after the funnel snapped 😢 spent 30 dollars on this.

so I've owned and broke 3 professionally made reflex bags. Everlast lasted 2-days, Ringside cobra lasted 7-9 months (had two bladder replacements from popping it) Finally one of the welds broke on a left hook. Your creation wouldn't last 1 hard shot. I love these bags but they break too easily. Was thinking of getting Ryan Garcia's dad's new bag, as he claims its built better than anything else on the market but for 400 usd and only a 6month warranty I think I will stick with my heavy bag and double end bag for now. it is a shame as I love hitting these things.
@Kewlus4 жыл бұрын
I think a DIY version is best for you because you can fix it at minimum cost. You could start with one like this: kzbin.info/www/bejne/aJmuYnprn7agqdE or use a power twister like kzbin.info/www/bejne/bmiuaHmBr9GNaMU
@djjinerson4 жыл бұрын
@@Kewlus that’s a good point but even the pro built ones are flawed. If you just go light on them they are fine but it’s just too hard to resist throwing a well timed uppercut, or hook until the bag goes flying across the room :). I Love the speed bar you built though. That is a great tool and good design.
