Awesome insteuctional video, Bobby! How big is your yard that you needed to use that much material?! The fence looks amazing! Certainly one of the best I've found online.

Awesome Video! Quick question, how far apart did u make the holes in the wood
@BobbyDotNet7 жыл бұрын
The holes in the wood are 7.5" apart. I chose this to leave a gap between pvc of 6.5" and matched that distance between the 1 x 2" wood horizontals. My plan is to sometime add slices of 6" (ID) PVC pipe as rings in the squares formed by that spacing.

Did you need to heat the conduit for the 3/4" finials to fit? Or was there some other reason? Thanks for the video!
@BobbyDotNet6 жыл бұрын
Hi, Yes you really need to heat the PVC. The PVC inside diameter is 1/2 but the outside is closer to 7/8". You can do it with almost anything, even water heated to just below boiling (be careful). The heat softens the pvc so the round pvc pipe conforms to the square finial. On the other hand, they are then stuck on so well you don't need fasteners or glue. You are welcome.

I'm curious, wouldn't using a nail gun have been an easier and more economical way of attaching the pipe to the cross bars of the fence?
@BobbyDotNet9 жыл бұрын
Triv27 I had considered a nail gun, it would be faster and easier. I suggest one that shoots short nails. Only nail gun I have shoots long brads, those tended to deflect and punch out some side. When I've used it for other 1" x 2" projects it was also troubled by the different wood densities on some sticks. Causing some to stick out on goesintta side, and some on the goesoutta side. I also like the idea of being able to remove screws to reposition a horizontal rail if desired. But it could be a good suggestion with the correct equipment, thanks.

I'm pretty sure woodprix is a scam, or you wouldn't have to run around spamming youtubes trying to suck people in.
