How to make a RC Hot Wheels (Honda Civic Fast and Furious Style)

This is my version of making a Hot Wheels RC using the 2000 Honda Civic SI model. I thought it would be fun to have green LED lights at the bottom to make it look like the Civic from The Fast and the Furious 1. I know it's not the same model, but you get the ideal.
I went back and forth with the nylon and brass gears. For some reason, I was not able to get any of the gears to mesh correctly so I changed over to the mini dual shaft motor instead.
I designed the B18 motor as one with the chassis. This made it a lot easier so I don't have to customized one by hand. The motor is real simple. Just a block basically.
I got lazy and did not redesign the chassis so the body sits super high. I had to push the chassis in deeper to have a better stance. I will have to redesign the chassis for the next build.

FWD will be very difficult due to requiring steering and drive motors to the front wheels.

You can also take a gen 1 xmods with an awd kit and eliminate the rear diff. Making it fwd. I had done this for my little brother since he likes Hondas but he didn't take care of it. I have since bought another shell but it's going on a complete cf/ alloy stiletto chassis for the Evo (gen 2) and will be awd.

If you don't have a 3d printer use thich card stock, like the stuff at the back of note pads. If you soak it in super glue its pretty strong! I have a challenge for you, Slick.. Make an RC Hot wheels with strengthened cardboard components like chassis and mounts :p would be cool to see if it actually works out!

That’s a great challenge. Unfortunately I have no skills to cut, modify, form or create anything like that from scratch. This is the reason I 3D model my parts and then 3D print. I could definitely try in the future.

Yes, the battery is rechargeable. I built a charging port on the underside of the car where you can plug in a charging cable to charge the battery.
