Do you ever keep the two large pieces as one, instead of cutting them and having to sew them back together? Would that make any difference? I like the fabric you chose to use in this video. I looked for something similar to use, only in a red and white checked, which I ended up getting but the checks are smaller than what you have.

Do you mean the two larger pieces which make up the back of the cushion? This is an envelope style cushion so you can take the pad in and out. You could leave this section as one piece but you would need to have a zip fastenings in stead if you wanted to be able to remove the cushion cover.
