This was the BEST video on this topic!!! The way you broke it down into a more cohesive and hands on way. I’ve been stuck for months watching videos on this exact step. I have the infused oils, but hesitant on going forward. Thank you!!! I’m trying to make healing products for my daughter with fibro, EDS, falling from dysautonima, and more. Again, thank you!

Thank you, excellent video!! I'll be growing calendula this yr. Maybe a cheese grater would work on the beeswax bar?
@fromthegardenchannel23 күн бұрын
Honestly it would be like cheese grating a waxy rock because it's way harder than soap but it's totally worth a try! It's definitely the most economical to just buy the chunk ❤️

I love this! As a newbie to central Texas, should calendula be planted in spring, fall...? Can I still throw seeds out now?
@fromthegardenchannelКүн бұрын
I love to start sowing it in the fall but I plant all the way through Feb as a succession sowing to have lots of blooms in early spring!

@@fromthegardenchannel I'm super scatterbrained, so I totally forgot to do it when it was autumn. Hopefully I'll be better about it this year!

This technique could be used on aloe, considering its high ammount of water?🤔
@fromthegardenchannel24 күн бұрын
No, I speak specifically on this at the end of the video because you want to avoid water with this to avoid it going rancid!

My first batch of comfrey salve I followed a recipe to dry and then grind the comfrey and then just put in the beeswax and heat up. It didn’t call for infusion. It worked well, so now I have some ground comfrey. Can I infuse it? I think it’s so small particles, that it would be an oil mush and hard to strain. What do you think?

what about using calendula for your face.... any creams?
@fromthegardenchannel6 күн бұрын
@@pilararevalo-o5v yes I speak about it helping with acne in this video. But you need to be very weary of comedogenic properties of what oils you use so you don't clog your pores.

I don’t mean for skin problems I mean as an everyday moisturiser…
@fromthegardenchannel6 күн бұрын
@pilararevalo-o5v the flower of calendula is not a moisturizer nor would it aid in moisturizing your skin. The oils you choose to infuse it into would be the moisturizing agent so my previous comment would still be applicable no matter your goal. Follow the comedogenic chart in the video and start testing different oils and fats on your face to see how it responds. Beef tallow is a great option for the face and skin in general. But there would be no need to add calendula to it to get moisturizing capabilities.

So if you can’t use bees wax what other oil can you use in place of the bees wax, and can you still use shea butter, jojoba oil, or grape seed oil? I am so glad that I can across your channel. Awesome tips that you give and share.
