Beautiful work! If your wire size was 0.8mm and mandrel was 14mm am i correct in calculating the aspect ratio to be 17.5?

Nice! What is that plate with the square holes where you pull the bracelet through? Thanks
@MadebyLeth21 күн бұрын
Thank you very much. It's called a draw plate, which is made with specific hole sizes, so you can stretch wire or, in this case, make the bracelet uniform in size.

What is the name of the the tool at 8:19 it was not in the description list? I am also a jeweler that would be very handy cutting stock for sizing or anything.
@MadebyLeth3 ай бұрын
I'm sorry it's not listed, the tool is called a 'Tube cutter'. I'm including an Amazon link to one so you can see what other names it goes by, I hopes this helps: www.amazon.com/Jewellers-Tools-Cutting-Cutter-Jewellery/dp/B017MONPSA

Can we hammer instead of taking it out of the box steel plate
@MadebyLeth8 ай бұрын
Hello Sharda Yes, you can. The advantage of the draw plate is that the chain becomes very uniform, quickly. You will also be able to use a rolling mill if you have one. However, you can of course also do it with a hammer and make it just as uniform.

Sir If my wire gauge 0.60 wats my mandrel size ?
@MadebyLeth Жыл бұрын
The silver wire I used in the video was 20 gauge/0.8mm and the jump rings are made on a 14mm mandrel. If you use 0.6mm silver wire you can still make it on a 14mm mandrel, however, it will be a bit looser. You can also use a slightly smaller mandrel size like 12.5mm or 13mm to make it tighter.
