This a lovely video and very inspiring. I think this young man shows how one can set up a lovely Buddhist Altar/Shrine and not have to spend a great deal of money. Namaste to you James Daniel Falgout.

This is beautiful! Thank you for uploading this to help us strengthen our Dhamma=) @08:15 and don't worry about spilling some water when offering it on the altar - If you use a different vessel to pour it (like a teapot with a long spout, or a nice milk pot which is designed to pour without spilling) then you can have more water to offer in the cups and less of it spilled;) [ also, your idea of just using a water bottle is also just fine=) ]

Oh, it is traditional to use a tea pot or Bhumpa for Water offerings. Any teapot will do and you will not spill so much. Hope that helps!

Buddha literally means "awakened one" therefore Buddhists do not worship the statues like they do with gods.

Evan Glatkowski.....we do not worship gods for there are no gods. Buddha is not a god...not sure why the young man continues to refer to him as such! However: a shrine and symbols of our faith are placed upon an alter. To devote our focus upon as well as pay our respects. To those such as the Dalai Lama Buddha and store the items we use for meditation etc on. Peace and compassion be with you always.

Michael Snakfinger in mahayana traditions gods sometimes are worshipped as protectors of the dharma so i think that's what he means

i am the creator of this video i have a new channel. Adam Plumb well its basically an eclectic work, visualizing which traditions go together it took a lot of mediation to think it over, but Budda never holds me back!

@@yosef5276 I'm a practicing Buddhist and have been for many years, but to your point you said "you shouldn’t instruct other on something you don’t know about. Its a waste of everybody’s time". How do you know I don't know anything? I wasn't wasting anyone's time, I made a comment on a video, I didn't instruct him , the video person at all. I merely said YOU should find some compassion. However, a Good Guru, will teach a starting point to work with, after that its up to them to open the to the next step, its his job to help guide you and help you seek out your answers. A good Guru will also teach you that its your heart that matters when you set up your Altar, the main things that need to be there (tools etc...) but you make it personal, and what makes you feel peace when you go to your Altar to meditate, study etc...this is HIS path, not mine, not yours, HIS. He is doing his best and he can learn more as follows this path. Learning curves, there is a way to say it, and a way not to. You lacked in the way to say it. I will end this response once again with, you be right (Ego) and I will be happy.
