This arrangement follows patterns and structure to make a formal design with a soft subtle colour scheme, its been arranged to be viewed from the front and is ideal for the mantlepiece, entrance table or reception desk.

Beautiful! Thank you for sharing your artistry, the mechanics, and design principles. I especially appreciate starting from supermarket flowers and tips on supplementing. Is there a rule of thumb for determining the number of flowers needed in relation to the size of a vase or container? We’re given a pair of vase inserts that go into brass stands alongside the altar. And a small budget. its a bit of a game to make it work, depending on what is available & pricing! I love the variety of designs you share, do you have a few favorite styles that can make a statement with relatively fewer flowers? I’ve been experimenting with asymmetrical curves to accentuate the altar but other volunteers design more traditionally. Thank you for showing so many options. Do you have any videos on best tips for choosing and conditioning flowers, how far ahead can they be arranged, how to water the foam, prolong the life of the arrangement? Any input appreciated. Love your channel!

Hi Sharon Thank you for another informative tutorial. I love the color combination and reviewing basic Design shapes is always good. I have a question about choice of containers. What do you think about when you see different shapes containers. How do you decide what shape to make in relation to the container shape. Given the varies types and shapes of vases that are out there I get confused.

Its 2 bunches, one bunch is stock, the other was a mixed bunch.

In my opinion, it would have looked much better if you had cut the two taller Gerberas to different lengths.

Thanks so much for your comments, its always lovely to hear other peoples opinions. This style was designed to be a mirror image of each side, so placing the gerbera at different height wouldn't have the mirrored affect. Instead it would have created a focal line, through the centre which wouldn't then match the rest of the design arranged to reflect each side.
