The recent high winds have brought a lot of branches down so now is the time to refill the log store. To make the cutting easier I have designed a simple folding logging saw horse.
The plans are available free of charge but I need your email address. Go to my main KZbin page, select "About" to find my email address. I am told that this works better from a PC.

The bungie is a similar idea to what is on the Truncator (which is what I have). The nice thing with the bungie is that you can actually put several logs in at the same time and saw through all of them (with care). I would always use the bungie, no matter what , even for a single log, it holds the material firmly in place and reduces danger and, as you say Peter, it allows single operater use of the chainsaw. We have a small area of woodland and about a day a year is spent cutting up fallen logs, splitting them with the log splitter and then hauling them back in the tractor. A day of cutting gives us a winter of log fuel - with the cost of logs these days, it's time very well spent!

i made one that fitted into the top of a workmate and uses a bungie cord a few years ago - last summer i spent 2 days cutting up all the wood we had in the courtyard from various trees that had been removed and also a neighbour's ash tree overhanging and branches from pruning - HOWEVER , I wished I had seen this at the time, as i would have made it this way - much better than the 2 planks I put together at 90degrees and then drop as a V into the workmate ..... area is a all clear now - but a friend has asked for a similar thing - so I may make it in this was for her - Thanks

I have almost always had to saw logs on my own and it was never easy holding the log for the final cut. Cheers. Peter

I made one like that but twice the size, a couple of years ago. I use a small EGO chain saw with the battery attached to a belt on my waist. Old age showing, I'm afraid, but suits me well.

Well, he did say he`d send plans if you ask, but If you can`t figure out how to make that from just looking at it in the video then I worry about you using a chainsaw...
