A mechanical "TV" for 24 lines, you can make it for 32, but the circle should be larger. You are looking for a program for converting an image into a sound file on the Internet

Good simple mechanical display. I'm the developer of the the software used to convert the image to NBTV audio

do you mind providing a link to the software?

The NBTVA forum can help a lot. I can't link it but Google it.

theory? just think about it. a dot scans across viewing area. it produces a varying, analog voltage on a light sensor. then another dot scans the next line. reverse it at the other end, shine a light of varying strength through the dot. can use three sensors and three lights, RGB, if one desires. it also needs "synch" so both transmitter and receiver are scanning the same line at the same time! the number of dots, scans, is the resolution. the number of times you scan the entire screen is the frame-rate. you need so many full scans per second to give the illusion of motion... about 20. therefore... the more dots you have, the more scans, the higher the resolution. (the scan itself has "infinite" resolution as its just an analog voltage... not discrete pixels.) but as each dot or scan occupies so much space on the wheel, the viewing area is limited to the angle between two dots. increasing resolution reduces viewing area. the disc, to give 20 images a second, has to revolve at 1200RPM... you only get to use a very small portion of a very large disc... theres an alternative disc design using two of them, reduces the speeds required. makes them a bit smaller.

make it as a cylinder. or rather, a belt. can get a display thats larger than the small angle separating dots. only issue is the speed it has to run at... thats the issue, isnt it? need so many dots for so many scans. then each scan occupies so much angle, and you gotta get through ALL of them at approx 20 times a second, or a full rotation... thats already 1200 RPM, regardless of size! i keep thinking of moire patterns... two grids of closely spaced holes of slightly different spacing, as they gyrate, it simply overlaps one hole at a time... the actual sequence doesnt matter, either...
