Very cheerful quilt. When Donna says to be careful about the bias cuts and how it will stretch your fabric your fabric, BE CAREFUL. I am thrilled that you explained it again. Maybe my next top won’t be so out of shape. LOL thank you for the demo.

Good reminder for this old quilter, too 🙋
@jordanfabrics83803 жыл бұрын
The trick is to always press in the direction of the grain of the fabric. Our muscle memory prompts us to pull the blocks side to side or up and down to make them square, but this has a very bad affect on the block! The more you try to straighten, the wonkier it gets! I have to concentrate really hard to iron along the diagonal of the quilt blocks - the individual ones and also when the quilt top is being put together.

I made this quilt in crib size. I used Kaffe bright colors, left over from another quilt. The oohs and ahs abounded. I told them I thought it was more the fabric designer than my sewing. Baby is now old enough to play on the blanket on the floor. The bright colors are quite entertaining.😊

I live in Montana and was out your way in early August. I always make it a point to stop by the shop when in the area. I have watched your videos for years and order fabric frequently. I wanted to put in my two cents regarding your decision to reopen as a brick and mortar store. Unfortunately, there will probably be a lot of shops that have realized they can go mail-order only. But the community of quilters, the people that make up our groups across the country, are social; we love to get together and talk quilts; we love to come in and browse, touch the fabric, see the samples, get ideas; we make shopping for fabric a part of our vacations. This will be a big decision for you as business owners...but I wanted you to know how much I enjoy visiting your store IN PERSON. I hope that your decision can be swayed to the "reopen" option as it would be so disappointing to know that Jordan Fabrics would no longer be one of my destination points during my travels.

After 50+ years of sewing and quilting and countless tutorials and lessons, any time anyone asks about learning to quilt it is ALWAYS an opportunity to introduce someone to Jordan fabrics! From picking fabrics to picking thread and thecquilt pattern they are well scripted an you always get a helpful hint or two. I'd like to see this in fall colors with a taupe or beige background. I like guessing the thread color and watching for a new nail color too! Keep hoping they'll reopen the retail because I like to match different lines amd brands. Hard to do that online....

Yes I do,play bet I can guess thread color and about 98% of t he time I guess the same one. I just wish I could guess on the winning quilt. I want to win one of them so bad. Donna is one of the only teachers that gave me enough confidence to actually sew. I started watching Quilt in a day and became so discouraged that I almost stopped trying. Then I began watching Donna and Karen Brown and Jenny and a couple of others and tried again. I am so glad. It has been fun. learning.
