How To Make A Snakebite (And Black)

The popular 80's drink which is infamous in the UK and not served in many places at all.
Snakebite recipe:
1/2 Strongbow cider
1/2 Heineken
That is it make sure you fill a pint glass half way with Strongbow and top up with lager I used Heineken, that is called a snakebite in the UK. In the USA it is 1/2 cider and 1/2 Guinness.
Snakebite and black recipe:
1/2 Strongbow
1/2 Heineken
Add a few dashes of blackcurrant cordial
This drink turns a snakebite into a snakebite and black which turns to the colour pink also known as the PInk Panther or Diesel.
That is it the infamous Snakebite and snakebite and black they certainly pack a punch sometimes called loopy juice, so drink responsibly.

This was the main drink at my (agricultural) university in 2005-09 - Stongbow and Carling. Was known as Diesel there for obvious reasons (agricultural tax-free diesel being dyed red). You could also have a 'Turbo Diesel' with a shot of vodka in it if you were an actual head-case: I once saw a bloke order 6 pints of 'Twin Turbo Diesel'.... mental.

I'm an American, we really don't do these here or even our version of Snakebite (except maybe at a fancy bar with a knowledgeable mixologist). However, my local grocers sells Ribena and I've been making these myself with Stella and Strongbow, and I really love it. Goes great with my Djarum Blacks and some Bauhaus on vinyl.

This was my favourite drink back when I was an undergrad in my uni's bar. And it was only £1.70/pint! On some special nights it was only a quid so just imagine the mayhem haha

One of my go to drinks is a loaded corona, it's a corona with a shot of Bacardi limon, you can barely taste the shot, it justs adds a barely discernable bitterness and lemon flavor similar to adding a wedge of lime (just not as fresh tasting, you can still add a fresh wedge). Every beer is a beer and a shot of 70 proof. They're very drinkable and sneaky because you can't really taste the shot. It's very easy to get too drunk.

Ribenna, Apple Cider(Sommersby or Apple Fox) and any Beer will do it. This tend to one of those cocktails where you can basically make it at home and enjoy it.

As an American who was stationed in the UK, I got bitten on many occasions. I'm now living in Germany. I need to go look at the local Trinkmarkt to see if they might have Strongbow.

We used to call it red diesel back in the day. We used to shot vodka straight after and call it turbo diesel haha. As soon as we turned 16 it was working all day on farms and getting rat assed every night on this stuff.

Depends where you're from regarding the name as you say up north you call it diesel but other areas will call it a snakebite and black.

Nowhere near enough ribena in it. Its also no stronger than a beer or cider on there own so dont see how it can get you drink faster .

There's enough Ribena. Called mixing drinks which is why you get drunk faster if you down enough of them.
