Found that I basically use the same technique for snare bombs, however I didn't think of adding mod fx, so this is pretty cool insight! One thing I like to do is use reverse snare bombs with a reverse floor toms hit blended underneath to make it sound huge. Or a reverse snare that builds into a bass drop, sometimes with a reverse bass drop under the snare as well. Also, Idk how long you've been using Reaper, but it's cool to see a highly reputable producer using it, maybe the stigma of "affordable DAWs= shit" will go away, because Reaper just owns every other DAW.
