Honestly, in all these years I've never even thought once of leaving a youtube comment, but this is so specifically interesting to me that I just had to salute your whole setup and effort.

Thanks Shaun! I did get a few more made. Depending on my laziness level I may make another video showing those being made.

This is absolutely amazing and I would love to be able to do this in the uk.

Thanks Shane! Find yourself a used Hofmann or Ravaglioli automotive lift, the kind that use a large screw (vs hydraulic cylinder and cables) and you are halfway there. Use that for the main frame that moves the large wheels up/down. All you'll need to control down speed is a simple VFD. That will get you cutting simple vertical cuts. I used half a lift section for the horizontal table movement. Now you have horizontal/vertical (XY) movement. Add some encoders and CNC controller and you are on your way. If you do start building one feel free to contract if you ever get stuck.

@@GregsStoneYard thank you for the reply Greg. I’ve been looking into it and I think I might start with a small 1mx2m cnc machine and then work my way up from there. I’ve never done cnc before but have a background in engineering so I hope it might help

Funny after watching your three movies, I thought that your sculptures needed lighting. Great job if these are your projects? Greetings from Mexico

How do you feed the sawblade through the stone and then put it back together?
@GregsStoneYard

The sawblade is actually a steel cable, with beads that have diamond on them. At either end of the cable, a connector is crimped on. The two ends then thread into each other to connect the cable.
