Just another thought, if you use velcro instead of hot glue for the battery pack, you can bring spare packs in case of battery drain. Great build, thanks for sharing brother

Thanks to you I was able to create my own spirit box! Thank you! In todays inflation it’s more than 100 dollars especially if you don’t have the ghost stop SB but it is still way more cheaper to make this one than to buy one so 10/10 for me. I appreciate you teaching me. Happy hunting everyone!😊

Hey Brother. I just sub’d. We are have a similar set up only we are using a delay pedal instead of a reverb pedal. I feel the reverb doesn’t make words clearer, for me (just my ears). The delay pedal though creates an adjustable echo which I find more beneficial. I dig your battery bank. Great idea.

Sounds like we are working on a lot of the same stuff, and possibly a few things that could inspire each other. On our most recent Behind the investigation KZbin podcast we showcased a cheap and easy alternative to those paranormal music boxes a lot of people are wanting but can’t afford. (Just skip to the last 15 or 20 minutes of the podcast. I also just did a tutorial on hacking the new style Sangean DT-200X to make it a hackshack/spirit box. Would love to know your thoughts on those. As for the ANC mini, Outside of it being more compact, I don’t see any benefit over the noise gate. They do the same exact job and the ANC mini cost 4 times more $. I was actually going to go with the ANC mini myself initially, and then my dad (who is a musician) told me a noise gate pedal would do the same thing. Come to find out you and plenty of others have been using noise gates in line with their spirit boxes for years. Clearly I’m behind the time, but has my brain opened up to many more possibilities. Stoked we were able to connect. I will be checking out all of your content Brother! 🥃

Nice vid, and build. I’m looking at making a similar build, but was going to use 9v connectors for a battery. I like the upscale of the power bank idea, but was curious what the benchmark was for battery life. How long have you had it running for on average without it dying?

Did you look into shields for the echo and reverb instead of buying the pedals? That's a lot cheaper.

I don't quite see the point of the reverb pedal, other than to make it sound more ethereal, but harder to understand. The noise gate thing makes sense though. Seems you could just go with the spirit box on its own without all the extra stuff. Anyway, it's a neat idea. Thanks for sharing.

So I just built this portal, and I'm getting absolutely no reverb from the pedal whatsoever. And the noise gate isn't filtering out much of the noise no matter what setting I put it on. It all just seems to filter the ghost box radio sound to the amplifier but not much else... So far it's just like a glorified speaker!

@@Mike_Delcoro: It appears that the petals are on. No sound comes through the speaker from the spirit box unless the reverb pedal is on. But it's strange, because the little light that indicates when the petals are on do not light up when I turn them on. It's like they're on but not indicating that they're on????? I went through the video, step by step, several times to make sure I had everything hooked up properly and it appears that I do. It's just not functioning the way it should or the way yours does in the video..

+flipmode 1009 any spirt box, sweep radio will work. I like the SB7 as my go to.
