Pete I can’t thank you enough for the thousands of tips, tricks, lessons and tools used in the body repair industry you have thoughtfully shared with myself & millions of others around the world. I can turn a wrench all day and repair electrical mysteries, making me a 21st Century body & paint novice. This was not on my bucket list but is now! Scattered thru your millions of shop videos spanning almost two decades, I have learned shrinking, use of fillers, epoxy and many more. As I enter the 60+ years on this planet, I can hear you, understand your training and become a better tech for it. Now, a new tool to make to add to my knowledge base of what I learn from Pete. Made by me, inspired by Pete. You are the best!

I know a spoon hammer is used for pannel beating obviously but what, when and where does a spoon hammer really come in handy?

I have a sneaky feeling that your questions will be answered in Part 2. I have seen a tool like this used on fender edges, door edges and obviously on sheet metal in panels. It would appear, as long as the shape is correct and it’s 3 times ticker than the metal you have dents in, it will work. It does have to fit. I am interested like you because it will keep the filler thin and make door fitment flush. Have a good day!

Hey Pete, would heating the spoon make it easier to form?
@diyautoschool3 жыл бұрын
No, it would probably warp it more then normal.. better off just taking your time and hammering away..
