I really look forward to the first of the month to see what project the four of you are doing. I enjoy seeing the different thought processes that each of you use when approaching the task. I gives me more to think about with what I am turning my self. I have only been turning a little over a year and appreciate what I am learning for all of you.

Now that is a fine, sturdy stool to stand up against shop-wear and weather. Have you ever tried using a glued block like that for a large dish? Very interesting technique on getting the leg holes drilled. A simple, elegant design. Excellent use of handtools. And that is some plane. Thanks for sharing

This is an awesome project! A functional piece of furniture all on the lathe. It could have easily been done with no lathe at all, but that’s an entirely different project. You have inspired me to give it a try. I am nowhere as skilled as you since I am just starting out but I think I could learn a lot from trying this. Thanks!

That is a well-done piece. I really look forward to these four-way projects. This one was quite interesting as turning was really only a portion of the overall project. Very interesting to see how the four of you each approached the project. I really like the details you put in your design. Thanks for participating in this activity and posting these videos; they are very instructive.

Not a fan of this project idea, not really woodturning, Sam has not turned top . Tool handles have more turning design than stool legs. Good job though and thanks for sharing Tomislav
@tomislavtomasicwoodturning
@tomislavtomasicwoodturning Жыл бұрын
Woow ..... Crossgrain tehniques for the seat that is used for bowls,platters and such and spindle work for legs and strechers... Sorry but what would be then turning? Maybe epoxy stool? Sam took his time to make awsome stool and showed stuff that are not much on KZbin, extremely well done threads, Mike took time to do more complex design for the legs and looks awsome, Richard as well, I took simple route as that is my style... But saying that this is not turning is just wrong and totally missed the point of this project.... Nevertless thank you for watching 😀

Tomislav has often demonstrated an excellent eye for design. He certainly has the ability to turn a Victorian nightmare of a spindle for legs, but the lines on this are perfectly elegant -- the work of a master and something that doesn't need beads, coves, astrigals, urns, ogees, reeds, . . Often, less is more.
