If you recall I made the humming bird feeder after you made yours! (with the mod of using bottles instead of the viles.) I have this book too. Now you got me wanting to make this! These are fun fairly quick and easy priojects atht give a lot of satisfaction. I have plenty of the brass rod too! :) Great video and perfect springtiem project!

They don't need a stick. Thet land and and cling to the wire mesh.

Squirrels will just push the top up. The top needs to be secured. At least in my 50 plus years of feeding birds. Great design anyway

Your tablesaw cutting is super DANGEROUS. Look at your fingers - how close they are to saw blade. Very DANGEROUS. imho

I probably wouldn't cross cut on a tablesaw in a video for public consumption. It's usually done for a special cut that a chop saw can't do. Don't lead people to the wrong answer, especially if they're just learning.
