I'm not sure if I have seen this video before. I have the same book and have been making and selling bat houses for about 3 years but I make them out of T-111 plywood with a lining material (plastic gutter guard) ventilation and a sloped roof. I also use stainless steel brads for my nail gun and stainless steel staples for attaching the liner material, both of which I got from Amazon. I also stain them a medium gray for heat retention. I don't have the book in front of me but I do not think the author would make it as simple and with out the basics like you show.

I made a dozen of these as gifts for our daughter's wedding in 2017 after seeing the idea elsewhere. For the golf balls I ordered personalized ones with the couples names and the wedding date. I gave them out at the rehearsal dinner and made them guess how it was done. Took a while, but grooms sister finally got the idea.

I made one years ago. I'll be making another one, just a little bigger for the jumbo rolls.

Where are the ventilation holes? Did you score the inside of the front and back panels to make it easy for the bats to perch/ hang? roof should be slanted to enable rain water to drain off.

To really get it accurate, get a mill table. I clamped that onto the plate.
@pooploop350911 ай бұрын
This table arrived well packaged and on time. kzbin.infoUgkxn94T8Mu1iMnsLCMNOI9srXSsLkI4JXKW Like another reviewer advised, I pulled everything out and made sure everything was included (everything was!). I built it alone and it took me about an hour. The color is great and for the price the lift part works well. As others have mentioned, it’s not the smoothest opening/closing, but it works. The screws do show, but I plan to order white sticker covers if that bothers us too much. Really happy with this table! UPDATE: it’s been over a year since we got this coffee table and we still love it! It gets HEAVY use as our dining table, foot rest, and school desk. Over time, the opening and closing mechanism has gotten smoother. I added a new photo with the white screw cover stickers. They blend in perfectly and make it look a little cleaner. 100% recommend!!!

To get bees to move in cut up a dead carpeter bee (i know its sad) but put a piece of bee in wach hole. The bee will smell the dead bee and know the hole is free to move into. In fact the bees will come back to the box every year. This is a far more effective way of dealing with carpenter bees

Squirrels will just push the top up. The top needs to be secured. At least in my 50 plus years of feeding birds. Great design anyway

Thanks for the video. I work at rockler and I'm trying all of our kits, just did a pen last night. This is very similar, which I expected... I was just wondering about the weighting part which you covered! I was cracking up every time you mentioned our products!

I didn’t notice a 4x4 underneath the 2x4’s you were screwing down. I just saw one beside it. Are my eyes playing tricks on me? It looks ridiculously easy. I’m not skilled, so I don’t want any surprises.

A rotary tool will take care of that internal sanding
@msantos11162 жыл бұрын
Awesome! I've been looking for a new window bird feeder since my store bought plastic one fell off and broke. Is the glue strong enough to handle the rotational force from the weight of the seeds at the outer edges of the feeder? I have squirrels that like to climb up and will definitely find their way up to this feeder.

Me: Has never done any kind of carpentry work in my life. Watches a 4 minute video. Suddenly I'm on Amazon trying to rationalize a couple hundred dollar purchase for a drill press to a husband who now thinks I'm deranged.. all because I wanted to make a toy out of a $2 block of wood. Sigh.
@JohnDoe-rt4jz2 жыл бұрын
You moisten the wood which stretches it out, put the ball in and flex the wet wood back.
@arthurweiss58972 жыл бұрын
Just bought this and set it up a few minutes ago. Laser was right on the money as was in this video. However when running this is a very noisy machine as the top vibrates badly. I put a few dust rags to dry to dampen the noise and that helped. I am sorry I bought this machine. I should have kicked in a few hundred dollars more and gotten a better model. Anyone want to buy mine? I paid $500 for it. You can have it for four.
@LatinDanceVideos2 жыл бұрын
I just did this, found drilling through ripped out the finish on the through side. I made a jig to hold the block, had to make the block dimensionally accurate. I also drilled the ends (against the grain). I’ll be making a wood ball instead of a golf ball. Just need to pick a size difference between ball and inside of the cage
