Man that was super simple! Adding fluctuating colored LED lights would give a beautiful ambience at night. I'm gonna build one for my pond! Thank you!

Great video thanks! Gonna use this. Watched another where they put the pump in a bucket which had holes. This keeps the pump from clogging.

how long do you suggest running this during a typical day? Also, (dumb question), but is there a way to submerge the plug to get it further out into the pond, or how would you deal with that?

i run mine 25/7 just because I love the sound of it!

I figured a sump pump would burn up pretty quickly running it all the time ? I give it maybe 3 months.

I built mine and works well. Mine was leaning a bit like yours when it was white but I noticed after you painted it and put it back out it looks centered. Did you adjust or add anything?

sorry for late reply, what I ended up making the rope that runs to the bottom tighter with a heaver weight (I used old car rotors) so it would pull the pump down under water.

Take a garden hose to run the cord. For the pump in. So it insulates the cord for the pump from electrical shock. Length of garden hose can very. Based on how far u have to get to the center of the pond. After that connect the cord to the plug or solar power system. U chose to run the pump off off being sure to account for amps watts or ohms. Current when working with electrical connections. Nice set up as an electrician though to help the site. Further. If the help is accepted.

How do you go fishing with live electrical wire hanging in the water?

i dont fish in this pond but it lays on the bottem its really not a problem

This is way too expensive you can do it way cheaper get one 4x8 sheet of foam board cut it 2x2 ft stack up four of them take two pieces of all thread through each side then drill out the center put your pipe and your cap in there spray foam around it it will lock it in tight and thread it down in your pump and you're done takes literally like less than an hour to do this about $150

seems like a cool way to go about it! mine only cost about 25$~ to me back I already had most of everything

The electrical cord to the pump should be run separately to protect against electrical stock should the wire get frayed or triped over. And then run to a solar panel for power and the pipe the electrical cord is in. Buried at least. One foot down. To protect the wires. That are connected to the pump.

Biggest risk with running pumps in water is electrical shock an water damage done to the electrical wires. To protect the cord and the connections. From water damage an to prevent electrical shock. Run the cord in a garden hose. The rubber lining of the garden hose will act as a double Insulator and allow to make a safe connection to a. Solar power supply that can run the pump on. An commercial panel to plug it into. Then fence off around the. Panel to prevent trips an damage to the Solar panel an outlet u plug into.
