I've only recently learned to sew and stumbled across this video. What sadness to learn Melanie's life was shortened by an awful disease. Know that her memory is still bringing new people to a love of creating and learning and she continues to inspire and brighten hearts and lives.

My deepest condolences to Melanie's family. To Melanie's mom, I will like to share with you, that I made a baby blanket the coral one, I did it same color too for my daughter to be born at that time and honoring my other kids, It is my first and only project with Melanie's help. God bless you all and I will pray for her and you as a family as well. I believe in Morher Virgin Mary, she can helps us in this difficult times. God bless you all and each of you. Good to see the good relationship between you two, it's a beautiful gift!!!

I have a t-shirt press that I use to put vinyl graphics on a shirt. I would like to use it to attach the interfacing to my t-shirts as it would be much faster than using a regular iron but I don't know where to set the temperature. any ideas?

Hi Melanie, I'm working on a tshirt quilt right now (well, technically a baby clothes quilt) and I was wondering if I need to also put a fusible interface on the "framing fabric" as well or will it work without being interfaced? Thanks for this tutorial!

I did one with the feather weight stabilizer and it worked great! I had so many t-shirts I am thinking about making a second with flannel sashing and back. would you recommend using the 906F again or would the SF101 work better with a flannel?
@MelanieHam7 жыл бұрын
+Ginger Johnson no I think the sf101 will be too think for flannel, I would stick with the featherweight

Thank you! Question. I am doing a firefighter quilt for my son. He has many patches from the fire Dept. Can you sew patches onto tshirt material and then sew these with the rest of the quilt?

I don't quilt on top of logos that come apart in the dryer. It just helps to make holes in them. So those, I would quilt around.

Great video! Just yesterday I was thinking about making a tee shirt quilt for grandies ..... thank you for the info!
@nancykonstantinides876 Жыл бұрын
I have made four tee shirt quilts. It is way easier to use a 14 inch square piece of plexiglass for the first cut and the interface. Iron on the interface then use a 12 inch square piece of plexiglass to make the second cut. All tee shirts are a uniform 12 inch square. I used 30 tee shirts. Two inch trim around each tee shirt. I bought a flat sheet for the backing. Finish quilt is perfect for a full sized bed.

I have made a couple t shirt quilts and have found that sewing through screened shirts causes the logo to tear when repeatedly used and washed. Have you not had this happen?
