Gee, there’s just no fault to find there. You made it look easy, but you explained it very thoroughly. Best of all, you did it with very common tools. Great job.

Excellent idea, looks great..... my only suggestion would be to use heli-coils or keenserts for the tapped holes. Aluminum is very soft and repeated use of the threads will cause them to weaken over time...

Nice!! How would you tackle the problem for differnet width/sized miter slots?
@Patricksworkshop
@Patricksworkshop 7 жыл бұрын
as far as i know from my vast years on this planet, all table saws have a 3/4 wide miter slot also the dial indicator pushes away from the blade and makes the runner contact the far side anyway so it would work with all sizes thanks for watching
@TheeModerateGamer
@TheeModerateGamer 7 жыл бұрын

hey Brian thanks for watching buddy so for the numbers it was 27 for the aluminum and 1 dollar for the bolts plus a dial indicator but i had one in stock already ,as for buying it new from a company the red one sold on the internet starts at 154 bucks + tax and shipping so and the other one from woodpeckers runs about 75 shipped so all in all i like mine way better thanks for watching i hope this answers your question

So you really can just use regular woodworking tools on aluminum?
@Patricksworkshop
@Patricksworkshop 7 жыл бұрын
forsure i wouldn't use my good blades on it but thats just me ,but sure why not . i used a old craftsman blade in the video to do all the cuts and today i used that same setup to up cut some poplar trim and it cut clean as ever i really think it depends on what you're making too and how much you try to cut all at once light passes is what i do to make the blade last as well as not messing up the project but most woodworking tools can do aluminum no problem
