Oh, my that was a memory from over 60 years ago! We had metal looms that attached all 4 sides to form the square, maybe 8 inches per side, and had variable setting/spaces of the metal "pins". We would use all colors of stretchy loops, new as purchased, or recycled jersey [soft stretchy] clothing, as the warp and the weave with the under/over alternations. Later generations of children had plastic [ugh] looms with knobby pegs including round and oval looms. That created the move toward using strands and skeins of yarns [my great-auntie called all yarn "wool"] no matter the fiber content, haha. Now there are many enthusiasts using yarn and pegged looms with various knitting stitches and patterns to create an infinite number of items, from baby booties to large bed coverlets! Thank you for the fond memory!

@@MadameMinima Almost no sewing, crafts, handwork or closework now that I have little vision remaining; sad having to give up so many things I loved to do most of my life. There is a modified version of the metal "potholder" frame [probably not adjustable but number of loops can be changed to size of project -- for overpriced sale at "Vermont Country Store" online in the U.S.; otherwise I would try for a used one for sale at an "Etsy" online shop. Sadly, the plastic [ugh] pegged looms are still readily for sale in most stores here in the US. Since I have no heirs, someone will eventually get a windfall of many quality crafts and 1800s fine antiques. ;-(

Love this Patz! I would add that the higher the cotton content of the socks, the better absorbency.

Yes, I totally agree with you. My socks are 95% out of cotton, but I could have mentioned it in my video. Thanks for reminding us 😍 Have you ever tried this DIY?
