A few people asked for a tutorial on how to make a TD in my other video, so here it is! If you have any problems when following the tutorial as I edited it too much then I’ll try to help in the comments here

At 29:48 you can buy a tower which can also be called a unit, although the “unit” I made was just a circle holding a terribly designed gun, but you can make your units wayyy better in the design aspect, this tutorial was for the mechanics on how to make a tower defense, not the design. That’s what I think you mean by unit in the tower defense game, I might be completely misunderstanding.

@@Brickl1h Oh so like a car moving through the path and whenever it hits an enemy (enemy’s) it oofs them unless if the car runs out of health first to which the car breaks and then a new one spawns some time later. That would be… pretty complicated I can’t cover all that in one comment unless if I wrote 2 essays worth of words on this comment (not an exaggeration). So uhh.. sorry, plus it’s much harder to use a tutorial reading text rather than watching a video or something.

Thanks! Nope, I did not add farms all I did was add the one basic unit and then add a few more of those and you could change some of the stats to make different towers out of it but not a farm. But a farm is quite simple you just have to make it so every time a new wave is started the button makes all the parts invisible for .3 sec to gain 1 extra dollar every round or make the parts invisible for more time if you want to gain more currency every round. That’s about it pretty simple, and that’s how you make a farm tower, if you want I can go into more detail. (Also your one of the few people who actually read some of the comments and what I answered before asking yourself with reading, Ty)

You can still revert your obby which allows it to go back in time bassically, your obby automatically saves when your building and you can go back to one of those saves, you can do this by going in the settings and clicking the button that says “revert current obby” and then confirm by clicking the same button again; next click the time which you want to revert to. If you don’t know how to fix the mistakes; put what’s not working in your tower defense obby here in the comment section and I’ll try to help.

Edit: That won’t work, I haven’t tested it but there’s a limit; the limit is that only 4 different buttons can select the same part; no more, so that limit wouldn’t allow this to be possible. Unless if you do what I’m thinking right now but that would waste too many push blocks. But very cool idea.

You can also make a button infront of the tower,so when an enemy gets to it it fires its gun,and not rapidly firing when theres nothing.

Some people asked for a tutorial on how I made my tower defense when I made a video showcasing it, so I made a tutorial, I have indeed seen the part 1 tutorial one stud cubed made, but I didn’t fully watch it I just saw the beginning then left. But some of what I did was indeed similar to his if I remember correctly, so yeah. But, if you want to do it in other ways, like moving parts, it gets much more complex so I did it this way as it’s more simple + at the time when I made the tutorial I didn’t know how to do it with moving parts as the enemy’s and stuff.

Yup, obby creator is indeed wayyy easier than making an actual game, of course there are more limitations and stuff but in general it’s much easier as you don’t have to code at all, you just have to know how to “code” using the push blocks and buttons and stuff. And since it’s easier, it lets people play around and some wanting to make actual games after a bit like you said. It was *.25* but I also commonly use .5 and 1 as it makes it easier to move but at the same time more annoying as I keep having to change between .25, .5, and 1 but just use .25 not that it matters too much unless if you make detailed stuff but yeah.

It’s in the Tutorial the first one but I’ll explain it here, so the enemy’s are push blocks, (entities) and the towers make a respawn part (resets entities) visible, so the tower makes the respawn part visible for .1 sec and if the push block is touching that respawn part when it’s made visible, the push block gets reset to its original location, that’s how the “damage” system works.

I’m imagining that when you say “coin system” you mean that after you win or lose you get a certain amount of coins (different currency), and this currency is used in the lobby to buy towers to use in the match and stuff. If this is correct I’ll explain how to do this with another comment, why am I not explaining here? Because there’s the chance that that’s not what you meant when you said “coin system”.

Did u ever say what to do for the button that says "Buy Tower 5$"? I think i found out what to do and i just connected all the buy buttons to it, but idk if thats what ur supposed to do Also did u ever say how to make it so that it detects if u have less than 5 money, it wont work? and if i have more than 5 dollars and i place a unit, it resets my cash all. the way to 0. Did u ever say how to make it subtract only 5 or is it resetting back to 0 normal?

For the reset money, it’s near impossible to make it subtract exactly 5$, so in the tutorial I made it reset you’re money, for the detects if you have less than 5$, bassically it only allows you to buy when you reach 5$, so it knows when you reach 5$, not if you have 4$ or 2$, etc, and after you buy something it resets the push block and button that detects when you have 5$ and the cycle continues. For the “buy tower for 5$” I don’t remember exactly how I did it, but everything is in the tutorial, but summary is the buy tower 5$ makes all the “buy’s” visible in the map and many other buttons select that buy tower 5$ to do certain things, which I also showed in the tutorial. Hope that helps, if you still have any questions or I explained it badly comment down here again and I’ll try to help.

U can also make other things different for examplw the shotgunner: a wide range and the hitbox is taller around the middle. Now you can also make the enemies have higher hp by making multiple stacked onto each other and making the towers that do 1 damage be able. to only hit 1 and towers that do 2 damage be able to hit 2 by making the hitbox tall enough to hit them.

@@lego_61 If you can still buy a tower when you have less than 5$ then that’s a bug, the reverse conveyor I’ve tried before and failed, because of many problems, I should try again as I am way better at mechanics now, I think, and I have a Tower Defense obby which made a video about it then the tutorial, the second wave had double stacked enemy’s so it would take 2 shots from the towers to oof the enemy, but I only had enough parts and button limit to make 2 different towers so there wasn’t a tower that could oof both stacked enemy’s at once, the 2nd tower was a tower that threw a grenade and had a big range, it was a circle, well the part used was a cylinder but yeah, for the quick fire rate, same thing not enough towers for variability but I could have made the 2nd tower one that shot quickly with a low cooldown. Also it’s pretty cool how you thought of all that and that quickly by the response time.

@@kamusgold3455the towers im making are Scout: 1 damage, 1s firerate, 5$, nothing special Freezer: 1 damage, like about 3s or something firerate, 10$, enables a part which prevents the block from going on to the path for a short time Shotgunner: i already said this in my other comment, but ill say it again wide range, 1 dmg on the sides, 2 in the middle, $15, 2s firerate Sniper: Wide range, 3 dmg, $25, 5s firerate Minigunner: Thin range, 1 dmg, $75, 0.1 firerate (unless it tps back too slow and im also planning to make multiple waves and a boss

True, I kinda forgot about using textures there but yeah. When I first started making the tower defense game; it was pretty hard, as I wanted to Improve so I gave myself a challenge to make a functional tower defense. It took a while figuring out everything but it was fun, also at the time there were no fully made tutorials on how to make a tower defense, like they said there would be a part 2 or 3 but there never was. So after I finished making the tower defense; I made it into a video, and I got a few comments asking for a tutorial. So I made a fully edited tutorial, but when I say “fully edited” I really just mean that I shortened it as much as possible and nothing else, well except the music and few things that were added in the screen over the video. Then the tutorial was finished and I uploaded it onto KZbin, the only fully finished tutorial on how to make a tower defense in obby creator! Of course I could have Improved some things in the tutorial, but it was mostly fine. And that’s.. well.. that’s more like just a summary on how this video came out.. but it kinda shows how I figured out how to make the whole game.
